A friend of mines sent a message saying that the webiste Tropical Traditions is having a huge discount on their food grade coconut oil. Just FYI for anyone who needs oil and a good discount. The sale is to end on Thursday.

It's 60% off of $240.00 value..95 bucks...but I can't use that much coconut oil. It comes in a huge 5 gallon container.

I can use that much coconut oil between herbal infusions, oatmeal, coffee, oil rinses, shealoe, making leave-in conditioners for family ... but I have no storage space ... and that's a good price

<off to google comparisons of Tropical Traditions vs Barlean/Emerald Labs evco>

It's actually an excellent price. Especially considering it doesn't go bad. I would probably break it down to smaller containers.

(After the fact) a few trusted friends and yourselves could chip in and and split the treasure. :) Or you could sell the extra in the product trade/resale forum at a bargain...hmm. I wonder when they will have that sale again? My friend loves to cook in coconut oil so she likes the gallon sizes. :)

I thought coconut oil did go bad. My (big) container said to consume within 18 months.

I guess that is something to look up. I thought coconut oil may expire but after quite some time...at least for eating?? I am not sure. I have only maostly used it for hair care.

I guess this is beneficial to those who eat, sleep and bathe coconut oil. :0) Lol! I have been thiknig about using coconut oil to cook with. My husband liked using it when he made food. He tries everything because his curiosity gets the best of him. I bought it for my hair (the food grade) from Whole Foods. He used most of it to cook with.
