I have a chance to get my hair releaxed this afternoon (instead of next week like I originally planned), but I last washed on Monday. I'm wondering if that's not enough time between washes . . . don't want my scalp to get burned!

I will say, though, that this particular stylist is very good at basing . . . so I think I might be okay.

What do you think?

I say yes. I always cowash two or three days before getting a relaxer. My hair is doing just fine.

I think you should be fine. I never really pay attention to any of that. I'll be scratching (before i started my hair care journey and understood that hair could be washed every 3-4 days), combing and brushing excessively, washed if i wanted to up until just days before a relaxer and I was fine.

I mean... everyone is different but I've co-washed 2 days prior to getting a touch up (tex laxed). I know a few ladies who have even done it day before and were fine BUT I don't recommend it . So I think it's determined by your sensitivity and how much you manipulate your hair (including scratching).

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Personally I will wait but how you describe your HS you should be okay. Just make sure your HS really does base your scalp.

Thanks Ladies. I'm gonna go for it. Shoot, one time I went swimming in the morning and went to get a relaxer with my head still damp with chlorine and got a relaxer (AND COLOR :look:) that afternoon. . . . came out great!

I wouldn't do it; I'd wait until the weekend. I was always told by my stylist of 12 years that I shouldn't wash my hair 3 days or less prior to my relaxer due to scalp sensitivity. I usually wait a week after I wash to get my relaxer but that's just me; everyone is different.

I think you should be fine. I used to wash three days prior to a touch up so I could detangle my hair. As long as it's been more than 48 hours, I think you should be good, especially if your HS bases really well.

Yes you can. I always cowash 3 days prior to my relaxer to detangle prior to going to the shop for the relaxer. You should be fine.

I've co-washed the night before a touch-up. The key is to not scratch/scrub your scalp and you will be fine.

Me too, I cant go longer than 2 days before doing my TU because my NG starts to mat together and I get too much breakage at the demarcation line.

I washed Sunday and just got a relaxer yesterday :) . You'll be fine! If your sweating before go under a cool dryer.
