hair bored
Okay here's the scoop. I'm a die hard CO washer. I do it just about every day. I use Pantene S & S, which my hair absolutely LOVES! It's very detangling, and my hair looks great when I use it. But the problem is that it getting a bit expensive to keep it up every day! I've tried other CO's, but most of them leave me a MESS of tangles. I haven't tried the V05's yet, but if they're anything like the Suave cheapies, they're too thin and watery, and my hair will be /images/graemlins/barf.gif. So what's a girl to do??? Do you all have any other cheapies besides V05 and Suave that you swear by for CO washes???

have you tried mixing honey and coconut oil to the cheapies. That's what I do and my hair isn't complaining one bit.

Hmm, if Suave Humectant is too "watery" for you, I don't know what to suggest! LOL

Honestly, the cheap Suave humectant conditioner works well for my con washes. If you waant something more dense, I would suggest cholesterol conditioners. They're fairly cheap and are great for all types of hair. HTH

Hmmm, I didn't try the Suave Humectant. I was referring to the Tropical coconut, and others that come in that bottle. Suave humectant you say? /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif Is it very detangling? And are Suave and V05 the only companies that make cheapy conditioners??? /images/graemlins/poke.gif

St.Ives. ( I read about it here...Tracy I think) is pretty inexpensive...... and Vo5 Honey and Almond one is really nice and smoothing

PS!!! WILDFLOWER....Your avatar is so nice...isn;t that you! if so, your hair looks great....

Ayana,

What about purchasing those large sizes of the Pantene from warehouse stores like Sams and Costco?

They're usually cheaper in the long run.

I do like the V05 Oasis Conditioner - Honey/Almond. It's thicker than the regular V05 conditioners.

Try Tresemme Ayana. We have similar hair. I find because the bottles are so big, you get mroe for your money at least....

I like the Vitamin E version. I can't go any cheaper than that for CW's....I also love Pantene...and I feel your pain on the price. I'm probably going to do what Jen suggested and pick up larger bottles when I can from bulk markets.

I usually don't like V05 stuff either, but my hair loved the Oasis Honey & Almond /images/graemlins/up.gif Also, I just got around to trying Daily Defense Tender Apple, and EVERY SINGLE ONE of those reviews were on point /images/graemlins/grin.gif This stuff gave slip and released almost every tangle from my head (and believe me, there were many because I've been wearing twistouts for a couple weeks). Plus, I found it at a Dollar Tree store so they were only a buck each. Definitely recommended.

i like the citrus one of the oasis vo5 line...they r still under 2.00 and not as runny

You might try White Rain conditioners. Seems like I saw those this weekend. My standbys are VO5 and St. Ives. These are the only other ones I can think of!
Take care,
G

I'll be honest, I have a natural TWA and practically anything could work well for me right now. You might want to hear responses from posters who style their hair the way you do.

Otherwise, I would suggest trying out the Suave Humectant conditioner. HTH

Well,

Let me know if you want to try Suave Professional Awapuhi. I have loads of it and I'm not really into it.

I've decided to stick to Back to Basics, Elucence, and EO hair products. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You should definitely try the Suave Humectant and Awapuhi. Another great one to try would be Daily Defense Tender Apple, this is all I've been using lately and I love it!

Ayanah - Have you retried Suave since you cut off your relaxed ends? It took me a few months before I did and I am amazed that my natural hair LOVES Suave Coconut whereas my transitioning hair and relaxed hair hated it!
You could also try St. Ives conditioners or White Rain (99 cents).

I have been seeing Pantene Conditioners on sale a lot lately
in my area I stocked up on the Full & Thick conditioner.
I also love the ST. Ives conditioners.

I also like the vo5 honey and almond. I sometimes use motions moisture plus also.

ETA: I got a good sized bottle of Pantene smooth and sleek from Sam's if that helps any. I think it was around $6.00.

Sally's sells gallon sized drums of 4-5 different conditioners. I am currently using the Salon care moisturizing one. I really slather it on too. It was $8-9.

I agree 100%. You may want to check it out. There is a BJ's by my house (Same as Sam's Club) and they have huge bottle of all kinds of conditioner. You'd be surprised what kind of beauty products you find in there. I found a huge bottle of Rusk Smoother leave-in for $10 I believe it was 32oz. It's a steal cause the 8 or 9oz bottle cost $9 at CVS or Ulta.

I second the Daily Defense Tender Apple. Like you my hair loves Pantene S&S but hates those watery cheapie conditioners!

ITA I use the Suave Humectant and it works well and when I want to switch up I'll use a cholesterol conditioner.

Thanks for all the responses ladies! I have been using the big bottles from Costco /images/graemlins/look.gif, and I'm still running out of them too fast! I think I may be a conditioner abuser - I use WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much! But it may be the only thing that my hair likes! /images/graemlins/spinning.gif

I tried the Suave salon one that's supposed to be like Biolage Conditioning balm this morning, and all I can say is ***Yawn***

@ Tracy, I may go ahead and give that Tresemme a try...I think my relaxed hair hated it, which is why I haven't gone back, but a friend of mine also suggested it /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif

@ Hairlove, I haven't tried the Suave since I cut off the ends, but it really turned me off when I was transitioning /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

@ Everyone who suggested DD Tender Apple, okay, okay, I'm on my way to the drugstore!!! /images/graemlins/driver.gif

Do they sell this Daily Defense Tender Apple at Target?? What about CVS??

Thanks!

I am not sure if they sell the Daily Defense Tender Apple at Target or CVS. I THINK I bought mine at Walmart. But there is a good chance that they may have it. There are also other kinds like Daily Defense Water Lily, etc. but I have not tried those.

Suave Humectant(off brand of Nexxus) is very creamy, nothing like the watery Suave conditioners. It's worth a try. I also agree of trying the Wholesale Clubs. I got a HUGE S&S from BJ's for a good price and it lasted a good while.
