cleaning the maxiglide?

to those with a maxiglide, how do you clean the part that has the spikes? you know how there be soe hair in it? how do you clean it off? I like the flat plate because you just wipe n go but its not that easy with the spiked plate/

I soak the plate in warm water with dish detergent. I then wipe with a napkin and use a toothpick to lift the excess dirt and hair.

In the DVD that comes with it they suggest that you clean it with a toothbrush and a mild detergent. They also recommend that you don't let water get on the tab that attaches it to the flat iron.
