Is this okay as the shampoo that is done immediately before a touch up? (by immediately before I mean at least 4 days before)

Will using this type of shampoo just before cause the hair to become more dry after the touch up?

IMO relaxing your hair 4 days after washing with any shampoo is not a good ieda. I would wait about 7 days. as far as the clarifying shampoo goes, my guess would be not to use it before a relaxer. I say this because, clarifying shampoos remove buildup and basically makes the hair squeaky clean. This is a good thing to remove build-up say once a month, but in the case of a relaxer, you need the added coating/oils to prevent overprocessing. For example, prior to relaxing my hair, I apply some type of conditioner and some olive oil to the hair to protect from overprocessing. I hope that made sense. I've had a long day. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

This is funny because we're learning about chemicals for hair in school right now and my teacher suggested using a clarifying shampoo at least a week before a relaxer. So far all the advice she has given me has paid off. Especially when it comes to my DD's hair.

I thought it was recommended to clarify or chelate 3-5 days prior to a relaxer?
