Has anyone experienced any hair loss or weakened hair from uising this product after a while?
I am a makeupalley member and just did a search on it.Quite a few people said they loved it at first and then as time went by their hair loss began.Their hair became weak, thinned out and one lady even got scars on her neck and scalp. They dont say if they used the shampoo or the conditioner tho.
I have used it once(the conditioner) and found it very good...now I am wondering if I should throw it away.

I use the leave-in conditioner. I haven't experienced any negative problems from using this product.

I use the conditioner for dry/damaged hair and have never experienced any problems with it. I believe it is a cheap but wonderful conditioner. I have also used the shampoo in the past without any problems.

The conditioner for colored/permed hair detangles my hair very well after 3-5 minutes of contact. My shedding and breakage has noticeably decreased because of this product. No scalp annoyance whatsoever. I also use the leave in Daily Nourishment without problems.

I have used it 2ice, my hair seems to have less bulk but it detangles like no other and as such I use it a pre-shampoo detangler. No other side effects and I hope none surfaces.

I have the Clairol 5X Renewal conditioner for dry/damaged hair. I used to love it; the smell was great, and it worked SO well at softening & detangling my hair. Well, I ran out of it and went to buy another. I guess they just recently changed the formula. The bottle looks different, the smell is different, and the ingredients are different (it looks like they took out a lot of the good stuff that was in the old formula; probably to save money

). And IMO, it doesn't smell as good, or work as well anymore

Ladies,

Lindy is right. I LOVE the Clairol Renewal 5x shampoo for dry/damaged hair and was not going to take any chances. I saw that the bottles had changed and then looked at the ingredients. For this shampoo alone, the sodium sulfates were replaced with the amoniums and I was like I can't deal with those so let me find the old formula. Found a few bottles and purchased them. I don't know whether Drugstore.com is still selling the old formula. I think Netgrocer.com is.

I have been extremely pleased with this shampoo and consider it a staple now. Cleanses gently, never irritates my scalp and leaves my hair soft and detangled. I do enjoy the smell, too!

I am very surprised about the ladies who had problems. Maybe it's the newer formula. I've been using the older formula for months now on a regular basis. Nothing but wonderful results.
