<font color="brown">The name "Cholesterol" is probably used because of the lanolin that is an ingredient in the product. Lanolin is rich in cholesterol and other sterols.
By the way, if you are not allergic to lanolin, it is known to be an excellent emollient and protectant for skin and hair. I read that it can absorb water in an amount equal to 50% of its weight. This would explain why so many have great moisturizing results when using Choloesterol type products. However, lanolin can be too heavy for someone with fine hair. It can also cause a waxy build-up if used too often. I guess like everything else, it should be used in moderation.
I mean seriously! Who in the world came across the discovery that cow placenta was good for hair? They had to have been doing some serious investigating.
