Chewed up edges.....what do you use.

Hey ladies,

One of my styles that I would like to wear is my hair back and get a phony pony or make a bun, my issue, one side of my head the hair just won't lay right, I don't know if that area is overprocessed or just retarded but no amount of gel will get it to lay like the rest of my hair. It could be an issue of different textures, but like I said it is only one side of my head. I'll try to post pic.


What do you guys use when you wear your hair back.


Currently I am using that really really dark gel.

PS- Someone had instructions on making a fake bun, but I don't remember who it is, if anyone knows off hand the members name, pls post.

The only thing that works for me is wetting my hair a little bit before I apply my gel and gently smooth with a boar brush. Then I tie a scarf down for a few minutes. I use a mixture of smooth n shine gellation for hold and Sallys Generic Paul Mitchell slick works for some shine.

Oh and I would kick the doo doo brown gel to the curb..it can be sooo drying to your hair which can lead to breakage..

I like the Elasta QP Glaze gel for my edges. Lays them RIGHT down!

For me I like using Fantasia IC hair polisher styling gel w/ sparkle lites (clear). I spray my hair with distilled/spring water and use a small amount of the gel and S-Curl and tie down a scarf. After a few minutes, I got the "skully" look. Mind you this is what I use so no guarantees.
