"I don't have to go to the salon to get my hair done"

"It saves me time, money"

"It' natural" Yeaah right:lol:

How would you know, you're supposed to have received this relaxer for the FIRST time, and by professionnal (salon).:look:

She should have oiled her hair with that oil on her skin, it looked so greasy:D

LOL LOL LOL LOL:rofl:

Hump de bump !!

Just wanted to bump this thread ...

I had a discussion with the guy, and I'll summarize my conversation later. I asked him a BUNCH of questions...

I'm curious to hear what he said.

What can I do to search this Rio thing. Im curious about it.

Anyway, I don't think her hair was natural either.. NOt in it's natural state anyway.

Hmm...

Something that made me laugh... But shake my head..

OF : I like your hair silvergirl congrats on your chop :)

Okay, my summarize..

He said the product is an intellectual propert and he has to hold the details til august, so he could'nt tell me what's in the product exactly. :ohwell:

However, he said it's made of organic plant extracts, it's so natural that I could eat it.
It lasts for 5 days without adding anything to the hair.
The effect dissapears when you put water on you hair.
It contains 1 shampoo, 1 conditionner, 3 physical tools and a DVD showing manipulations, include something to cover your hair or something when you sleep.
It's safer than hair pressing.
It took 45 min to do for "I don't have a social life" girl.
It's designed for straightness only, no in between.
He can give out samples in May if you contact him

That seems like a good product for when I'm the mood for straight hair, but I'm a bit skeptical:ohwell:
What are your thoughts ?

That's exactly what i was thinking when I saw it  . Here hair just looked like she didn't comb or condition, and that she slept on cotton pillowcases for a hot minute. Her bigger issue was the profuse sweating...but that's another story :lachen:

She was just nervous. Ya know she hasn't been out the house for a while;) So I guess now that means she has a lot of friends and a social life all because her hair will be straight for 5 whole day:ohwell:.

I agree with the rest of you ladies... her hair was def. not in its natural state. It just looked like she was due for a touchup or maybe just a good wash and set.

And what this "miracle product" did for her a blowout or a good ol flat iron could have done the same:ohwell:

Aww, poor Melissa can't go out with her friends to eat cuz her hair is so nappy and horrible!

GTFOOHWTBS! I really hope this dude doesn't get any business--just pitiful.

Just for him to put out that wack-ass, offensive ad, he shouldn't get ANY business.

I don't know why he was so much kind to me even if I was blasting him non-stop

He didn't find it offensive at all because he has other races in his other videos:ohwell:

That's not professional at all if he wants to make it big...

I was trying to stay out of this thread, but I actually know the guy (who's actually pretty cool) and spoke with him recently. He's the type of stylist that listens to his customer. If you don't use heat, he won't. If you have a conditioner you want to use, he will. If you don't trim, he won't even pick up the scissors.

He genuinely cares and loves natural haircare (not a fan of relaxers at all), and even grew his hair long to experience what women go through caring for our longer hair. His hair is very curly and about bra scrap length. He really wanted to offer a safe and alternative styling choice to women who embrace their natural hair, but wants to change it up a bit without damage. (And I'm like: "Well, why didn't you just say that in your ad?" and offered a few suggestions.)

I believe he really thought that is the type of advertisement women would respond to--with the personal story and all. Though I don't know her personally, the particular woman in his ad was actually telling her own story! It wasn't scripted. Once I learned that, I was doubly sad for the young woman. :(

I really don't know much about the products (he's really tight-lipped, which is his right), but I'll check in with him in a few months to see what this thing is all about. But, I know for a fact it is not a RIO-type system because I asked him about it.

I have no doubt he's a nice guy !

In fact he was pretty nice to me, sorry Legend :/

The story was true ? That's sad... :(

He offered me to try samples and such and my mother is interrested, let's see if it will work for her. My mother has fine relaxed hair and wants to go back natural, but want the straight hair at the same time without burning her hair every week. So if the product is like it was presented, i'll be happy for my mom, and I might try it.

The girl has more issues OTHER than her hair. There are no icons to show the look on my face right now whilst I'm watching this.

Maybe this one right here is closest.

My expression, EXACTLY!!!!!!!! I could not believe:eek:   what I was hearing and seeing. 'Somebodies' need biggo slaps up side the head. The commentary, the product, the whole stinkin' video!!!!!!!! NATURAL:confused:  Yup, shades of RIO.

You know, as much as this video is a disgrace (and made me laugh), I can't help but be slightly curious about this product. How can a shampoo and conditioner straighten hair? Maybe these three physical tools are just a blowdryer, a flat iron and a comb.

Oh boy, and if this girl isn't an actress, I feel so bad for her. She has problems that go much deeper than just her hair.

Me too:lol:
I'm soooooo freaking curious. As a biologist, I just can't seem to see how we can do that.

No need to apologize! I don't know him THAT well. When we discussed his ads, I actually told him the ad has shades of Dr. Miracle (which he understood) and he should check out LHCF. He was very receptive, and was honestly upset that his advertisment was misinterpreted. He's really dedicated to his project. Knowing him--even the little that I do--I have no doubt it is safe and will work. I may even check the product out when it's released! ;)

Wow thats really surprising because judging from his comments and responses to the commentary he received, he seems to have no clue about natural black hair care or maintenance at all. He is full of the same misconceptions and ignorant stereotypes that most people unfamiliar with black hair have. Is he black? And if he expects people to believe that poor unfortunate girls hair was natural to begin with he's really playing the public for a fool. I know a bad perm/relaxer when I see one.

I am sooooo annoyed. Ugh... seriously there are other ways to market products for black hair without saying that natural hair is bad.
