Laela,
Your braidout looks fantastic. What type of braids did you use? Cornrows or individuals? Can you explain your technique? Your straight bob looks nice and bouncy too!
TIA,
Jen

Thanks Jen! I braid the cornrows depending on how tight I want the curls or how long I want them to last. Bigger cornrows give a looser, wavier braidout. I normally do them in med. small, usu. 10 cornrows, like I'm wearing now.
This was my attempt at a dry braid out. By dry I mean, the hair was washed and air-dried then rewet w/ S Curl no drip and the wave gel, as opposed to just adding a moisturizer and braiding the freshly washed, sopping wet hair. Both give the same result, though...
I did the cornwrows.. about ten of them, and added the little black hair rubber band at the endz, adding a bit of oil before I curl the ends up and secure them with the hair band.. This is to keep the ends soft and to help them curl as well, otherwise, they'll look straight. After it dries, I put oil on my scalp, between the cornroows, then I use only my fingers (No COMB) and undo the braids and fluff the air to shape. It's very easy to shape the style when you use your open hands, palm up to push up against the endz. At night I use my fingers to divide the hair into four sections and do four big plaits so the hairstlye stays intact. In the a.m. I unfluff and spritz with Total Control (or any hair cuticle sealant) Kemi Oyl works perfectly for this as well.. but just a smidgeon. The style usually lasts two weeks, but I only wear it for a week.
