Lol. I never used the word 'fly' but I thought it was appropriate here. I am looking to drastically reduce my hair expenses. I calculated it and I spend at least $1k-1300 a year on just my hair and this does not include hair products just getting it done. I do not know how to do it myself so this is why I have to spend so much. I was thinking the cheaoest thing I could do is probably cornrow it down and wear a wig or something for a year. I only wear extensions plus since it last so long looks believable. I am trying to think of maybe something like a wig maybe that is comparable to Extensions Plus. I have zero tolerance for anything that looks fake so Idk. Anyways, if you ladies have any suggestion...let me know. Thanks!

That EP will definitely break your pocket, so I can understand that. It is beautiful though.

You can get some really nice looking half wigs and lace fronts from the BSS. The most natural looking ones I've seen run about 50-70$. But since you're reusing it, you get your money's worth. I wore half wigs for months and it was a great protective style. I also got them for really cheap on www.hairsisters.com. They have a lot of selection.

Last night I put in my own weave with some regular BSS hair. Altogether I'd say the style cost me 30$. So I'll probably be doing this for the next few months. It actually wasn't difficult to learn at all. It's homemade, but it'll do.

that's a lot of money. I do my own hair, I haven't been to a hairdresser in at least 18 months. I buy a huge tub of relaxer for about $13 and I texlax 3-5 times a year, so that $13 goes a long way. Buy some isoplus or something as a neutralizer, it's like $1.39 for the larger bottle. That should last for at least 3 relaxers (6-9 months). I don't use shampoo really, I have one bottle of HE ltr shampoo that was on sale for $3.
I use vo5 condish w/baking soda ($0.59 a box) to clean my hair. I only buy my vo5 when it's on sale, and I stock up. On sale, I pay $0.77 per bottle, instead of $1.
The most expensive things I have bought for my hair are Kenra MC in the big bottle for like $29 and $24 for chi silk infusion. I paid too much for these items because I bought them retail from a majority yt area, but I haven't used up my first bottle of either yet. I usually do the kenra after a relaxer, and frequent flat ironing is bad anyway, so I use the chi once a week to help me detangle, then I airdry.
Get good drug store brand condish on sale, and add olive oil or honey or molasses for added effectiveness. I use ao condish for weekly deep conditoning, but that's like $8 a bottle since I order in bulk.
I don't know how much I spend per year, but it's certainly under $200, and should be less than that now that I have most of the hair tools I need.

I wore a half wig before but I am natural so I had to keep pressing my hair which I suck at so it would blend. It was kind of a hassle.

I would spend less money if I could press my hair on my own. I have the tools but not the skill. :(
