Ok. So I am tired of trekking all over town just to get the cheapest mango butter, CON shampoo, you name it product. I need a steady source.

I can say: DON'T SHOP AT CVS! $7.19 for Mango Butter! Ridiculous!! I paid $4.99 a couple of months ago for it....somewhere I don't remember.:look:

Walmart seems good....$2.99 for CON shampoos.

Where do you usually get your ish?

I always check the sunday paper for coupons and sales. Walmart matches competitors prices. So if CVS or whoever has a sale on Pantene then I just bring the sales paper with me to Walmart and show the cashier. They always adjust the price to what the sales paper has.
Edit: And I have a Sally's card for everything Walmart doesn't sell. When I shopped at Trade Secret,I only went during sale time which I think is before 11 am on Tues you get 10% off.

The cheapest overall would probably be online, but then there's shipping. *

Walmart Walgreens or Sallys. But I usually just go to the BSS. They have a better selection. Some things I can't get at Walmart or Sallys.

That's the truth. My Bss has so many different products to choose from that I have never ever seen at Walmart, Sallys, or anywhere else except another BSS. Walmart needs to broaden their selection of "ethnic" products.

I've noticed it depends on where you live what they carry. But they'll never be up to par with the BSS. If they were, then we wouldn't need BSSs. The BSS I go to is pretty reasonable though. I've been to some other one's that were more expensive. But I find that the more expensive BSS's carry more high end products too. I go to certain ones for certain things.

I didn't know Walmart does this. Do you have to go to the customer service line to do this?

Nope, just show the add to the cashier when you are checking out. They don't honor BOGO free offers unless the add has the price you can get the 2 for. HTH

No, you don't. (i used to work there :-/ ) You can go to any register. Really, you don't even need the ad... if you tell the cashier that someone else sells it cheaper, they are supposed to give it to you. This should still be the case, unless things have changed since then, which is about 2 years.

One more reaosn why I love me some Walmart. That's my main place for products (even tho they always have low stock).

Does Target do the same?

You can find good deals at dollar general too. I went two days ago and got two tubs of lustersilk sheabutter conditioner for 2 bucks, pantene relaxed and natural shampoo for 3 bucks, and some softee greases for a dollar.

I buy most of my products at either Walmart or my local bss. But Walgreens can have some really nice deals on products at times. Sally's is good too if you have one of their discount cards.

I go to Wal-Mart, Sally's, or drugstore.com. At drugstore.com if I buy $49 worth of product there is no S&H, and I pay no tax. That really saves a lot. I can also add beautystore.com items in the cart. There are only 2 BSS's in the town that I live in, and the nearest Sally's is one town over so I do a lot of online shopping.

Walmart is the cheapest, bu I have to shop at Target because that's all they have in the city. I find a better selection of certain products if I shop in a store in an "ethnic" neighborhood.

i second that motion, walmart lol! i foundout also depending on the "area", a walmart might carry one particular item while the other one doesn't. Also once a went into family dollar and got some ors replenishing pck for $1.09 each. So it depends, i like to shop around, never limit myself- or atleast try not to lol!

I agree with that. I went to the Rite Aid in the more "richer" part of town and was in PJ Heaven. Some things that I could only get from BeautyMax or Trade Secrets was there. Way back when, I was told by a Walmart employee that stores do stock certain products depending the demographic in addition to what sells the most.

I just discovered the use of discount places. I went to "Amazing Savings" and got Loreal products that I *heart* so much!

They were cheap too....$1.99 each!

This is the store:
http://www.dccreatives.com/amazing/employment.htm

it is like a Rockbottom, Odd Lot, etc. type of store so it is not for "staples" but for new products .......to try out. (calling all pjs :p)

Also, please be careful about CVS' & RiteAids & Walgreens if you live in a more suburban area. They dont replenish their ethnic hair care selection as frequently (becuz no one is buying!) and youre more likely to get an expired product...

When I tried to find a store, I got some crazy text page. Do you know of any stores in Maryland?

I love me some Wal-Mart. They have great prices and a liberal return policy too. I get my CON poo, LeKair Cholesterol, BB Oil Moisturizer and other staples there. Plus they have a lot of "specials" like currently they have large Tresemme conditioners with 33% more free and Garnier conditioners that come with a free tub of deep conditioner. I bought a Dove Sheer Moisture Mist there and it came with a free full size conditioner too. :D

The same reason why groceries in the hood cost more. (I am not talking about gourmet foods, but the basics actually seem to cost more in the hood).

This is so true. I live in a suburban (almost rural) area, and the ethnic products at the RiteAids always have dust on them. They are not even stocked in the same area of the store as the majority products.

I don't know if they have any where you are. I would suggest calling them or 411 to find out if they have stores in your state.

Ok...so Filene's basement has haircare products. Tons of Nexxus, Sebastian (not colourshines), etc.

Botanoil is like 3.99 for this size:
