Changing relaxer

Bless this board ! I found so many useful information. Here's my question. I just started relaxing my hair, my first relaxer was Gentle Treatrement no lye. I want to know if it possible to retouh with Motions lye relaxer? A lot of people say that lye relaxer are better to help hair grow.
