Ceramic? Tourmaline? Titanium? Ionic?

I have been reading thru some threads and online articles about which substance is best for a flatiron and/or handhled dryer. I am still unsure but I am trying ot see what I should look for when I purchase. I'm not trying to spend a fortune if I don't have to....what do you ladies know about these types of materials used in an iron? Thanks in advance!

I've found the tourmaline & ionic ones to be best. My husband bought me a T3 for Christmas & I love it. It did cost $160, though.

It depends on your hair type and what you want your final result to be.

All of these irons are really ceramic because they use ceramic heaters (I say they meaning majority of the irons on the market now). Ceramic heaters are what produce the far infared heat which produced negative ions. The plates kinda tailor the final result.

Tourmaline plates usually give the hair a more silky feeling. This is one reason why so many people love the Sedu.

Titanium irons are great because they conduct heat the best. Many people with them have to use them at lower temps because they really don't lose any heat so you don't have to crank it up as high. Also, the babyliss titanium irons have very long plates so you can cut your styling time in half.
