OK, MY HAIR IS HEALTHY, AND GROWING. BUT WHY OH WHY DOES THE CENTER BOTTOM SECTION LOOK SO SPARSE? I ONLY ROLLERSET, NEVER BLOWDRY OR FLATIRON. END'S ARE HEALTHY AND TRIM. I SEEM TO BE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT. MY HAIR IS WELL BELOW SHOULDER. WHEN I LOOK AT IT FROM THE SIDE, I'M ELATED. AND THEN I LOOK AT THE BACK VIEW AND I GET SICK....CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT, AM I ALONE:confused:

Hello,
I'm a newbie here and I came across your post and I can surely relate. My hair is a few inches from brastrap length and for the most part healthy. But I do notice that when I look in the mirror my hair seems to look a little (I won't say thin) but just not as full towards the bottom middle. I think it's because I have a weak area in the center of my hair :( (not sure if it came from dominican blow-outs or something else). The piece is maybe a few inches long, and what's left up there is kinda of thin. I think that causes the hair at the bottom in the center to appear a little thinner than the rest of the hair. It's very frustrating. I'm even considering cutting it this weekend so that it can look fuller. Maybe you should check the middle of you hair for any weak spots. That's the only explanation I can think of.

Hope this helps!!

Mine is like that in the middle of my head and middle of my hair...if that makes sense. That is also where my hair gets the most coarse new growth.

I wonder why its like this?? I have the same problem the crown is soo thick and full but the back middle section is thin! I'm going to start moistizing that section a little more and do massages and see what happens!
Maybe you ladies should try the same. Good Luck:)

I thought I was alone with this dilemma.....it's why like dayum near two plus inches had to be lopped off last touch up to even things out...because it looked stupid that the right and left side were practically armpit....and the middle wouldn't budge:(

I'm on the no whining challenge....so I'll stop there....but I'm trying to monitor that area.

Good luck everybody!:)

I have the SAME problem. And I keep trying to figure out if I'm putting extra stress there. Sleeping on my back/ tying the scarf in the back and then it creeps up and rubs in that section as i sleep/ bobby pins/neglecting that section when i wash or moisturize/etc...

I don't know what the culprit is but I have found that when I stopped wrapping my hair and cut out brushing, that's helped somewhat.

I've got this too! I have to be extra gentle with the back middle section. I can heat abuse the sides and front and they consistently grow...I'm not sure what helps, but try scalp massaging that area, always moisturizing it, and using less heat there.

This happened to me too! I had to trim in May to even everything out. The right and left side know what to do, but the middle is lost  . I just have to give my self extra time to reach my goals. I wish it would grown in a V or something so I could leave it be.:perplexed

THANK'S FOR THE RESPONSES. I KNEW I WAS NOT ALONE. I WILL BE XTRA CAREFUL IN THAT AREA, MASSAGE..JUST BABY IT. I PLAN ON CHOPPING IT STRAIGHT ACROSS, MAYBE AFTER A FEW MORE RELAXER'S, EARLY FALL. MAYBE BY THEN THE THICKER PART ABOVE IT WILL BE IN UNISON WITH THE SIDES.

MAYBE WE SHOULD START AN OFFICIAL CLUB "CAA"

I have the same probelm... my hair is healthy and thrives everywhere else but in this section. My hair is baby fine in that area with a 3b texture, i'm very careful with it, but it always grows out "sick" looking

I can relate. I am really focusing on moisturizing, deep conditioning in those areas and giving the center air because it is usually covered over by the hair from the top and sides and maybe it just gets SMOTHERED!!!! So I air out the center by pinning the rest of the hair out of the way, spreading out the cenetr hai for a couple of hours every other day. It seems to be helping as it is getting thicker and stronger. rbonjour

well since we all have it
cuz i definitely do as well
maybe thats just the way it is
any one have ideas on how to fix it??
b/c i treat all my hair the same
or maybe we just all cant get to the middle of our head as well as the sides when combing, washing, treating and all that

I SPOKE TO A STYLIST TODAR AND SHE SAID EVERYONE HAS A WEEK SPOT, SO MAYBE THUS IS MINE. BUT, I REMEMBER A TIME WHEN MY HAIR WAS THICKER ALL AROUND. MAYBE IT CHANGED AFTER I HAD MY SON, OR MAYBE IT'S FROM AGEING:eek:

CUTIEPIE, I SEE YOU ARE IN ORLANDO...WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR HAIR DONE? AND BY THE WAY, YOUR HAIR DOES NOT LOOK ANEREXIC:)

Do any of you ladies wear buns alot (not loose enough)?
Do you split your hair down the middle and wrap it in opposing directions?
Do you have a center part?

These techniques may cause that back/middle thinning. Try moving your bun and part around frequently. Try changing the way you wrap or protect your hair at night as well. Also, sometimes we give more TLC to the parts of our har we can not see as well.

Well, I use to go to a dominican salon (Salon Dominicana) which is located on Colonial down the street from Fashion Square Mall. But after I noticed the breakage in the center, I stopped going. But what could I expect, I was going every week . As of lately, I've been going to this lady whose information I got from someone who attends my church. So far so good. PM me if you want more info. about her. Who does your hair here?

And girl don't let the black shirt fool you ;). When I wear something colorful, I definitly can see the difference. It does this thing where it likes to separate right down the middle. It's annoying because I'm constantly combing it so that it won't do that and so it lays correctly. Maybe I'm just more aware of my own hair than others because people always tell me it's nice, but I'm always convinced that it could use a little help. But hey, we're always our own worst critic.
