Castor Oil

I just purchased some castor oil. I was just wondering....how do you all apply it to help your hair? do any of you actually drink it? I used to drink it every morning when I was growing up.

Far as I reckon, I've never taken castor oil orally. *shivers* However, I do use castor oil on my hair in few ways:

• applied throughout my scalp using an applicator bottle
• applied generously to my edges, scalp, and nape
• applied to my ends to seal in my leave-in moisturizer

I've oiled my scalp with Castor Oil. I also use it as a seal sometimes. The only time I have ingested castor oil was when I wanted to use it as a laxative.

You apply it to your Hair to Help Seal in Moisture. It works wonderfully to correct dryness and it also helps tame NG (if you are relaxed). It will also help fill in certain spots i.e. temples, edges, napes, crown etc.....by applying it to your scalp

I prefer Jamaican Black Castor Oil for this. I have also tried unrefined Castor Oil from the health food store. Not the Laxative kind, but the one in the Hair/Beauty Section of the Health Food Store.

Why were you drinking castor oil every day when growing up?? Just curious...

I used to take a spoonful of castor oil if i had a really bad cold and was desperate. After a while I stopped being that desperate. Castor oil cleans you out.

I use it as a pre-shampoo treatment, just apply to hair and leave for about 1 hr makes the hair very soft.

I also use it to seal in my moisturizers.

Some people also add it to their deep conditioners.

Castor Oil has been said to help thicken and help your hair grow in faster. My Gram (old school southerner) used to take Castor Oil when she was sick and it can also be used as a laxative. I've only ever used it on my scalp mixed with Mega-Tek to speed up hair growth.
