I just recently discovered a bottle of never-before-used castor oil at my house. But the downside is that I know it has to be at LEAST 6 years old. So my question is does castor oil expire? I don't want my hair to fall out from some weird adverse reaction. Thanks!
IMO, I say throw it out. I don't know if it gets rancid like other oils over a period of time or not but if it's at least 6 years old, it's easy just to buy a new, fresh bottle. You would want unrefined, cold-pressed castor oil anyway. Plus you'll have peace of mind.
