This is an FYI, but I'm interested in knowing if anyone else noticed the same thing.

ETA: This is after smoothing it back and tying down with a silk scarf for a few minutes.

:yep: I'm 4a around the edges and use JBCO on wet hair w/a scarf quite often to lay my hair down. Loves it.

Yes girl. That's why it is my #1 staple. I am so glad I found it because it has done wonders for mine and the Supremes' hair. Q

Yessss....i think any good watery moisturizer + castor oil + a scarf makes edges so slicked down. this is my ''big gun'' method. I breakout my big guns whenever my egdes are nappy as crap and it works. I use wave noveau tho. It also gives great wave definition by the edges too

Ya'll done it now. I tried castor oil and hated it because it left my hair greasy. This was years ago.

I'll break out the castor oil again today for my edges and see what it does.

how else is castor oil benefitting? Do u guys think that since it's so thick, that it may be a little clogging (like mineral oil)? I don't know. just a thought.

No girl not at all. Even though it is thick, a little goes a long way with it. I use it as a pre-poo, moisturizer, to seal my ends and to lay my edges down. It is nothing like mineral oil because it actually penetrates. Q

True + My hair loves this stuff.

no clogging...i think the thickness of the oil TAMES the hair a lil better and then the addition of the scarf tames it more. But like 'Q' said....its not like mineral oil at all

I am still getting my natural regi together but this seems like a keeper.

I apply ors olive oil hair lotion to the edges and then a little castor oil. I also use it to seal my ends.

You have to be really light handed with it though.

I just stopped in to say...

I LOVE castor oil. Love it. Works for everything. I will use it for the rest of my life. As a matter of fact, if I was stuck on a desert island all I would need is water and castor oil.

And, castor oil does not clog your pores like mineral oil. In fact, if I put a lot on my wet hair and then put on a shower cap, by morning it's completely absorbed and my hair doesn't feel sticky or slick at all.

Castor oil is the best thing to happen my hair...water and castor is how I get my hair nice and neat....Its never to greasy just soft and silky
