castile soap

I sometimes use a liquid castile soap that I buy from elysiandreams.com
I dilute it with 3/4th water.

It worked well with my hair. It was not too drying. My hair felt clean but not "squeaky" clean. I liked the simplicity of it.

I can't say that it especially provided "slip" or did anything uber-fantastic for my hair, but I don't have any complaints about it either.

I've used Dr. Bronner's castile soap, you can buy it at some health food stores like Whole Foods.
It did a good job, but I had to dilute it alot becuse using it straight left a slight film on my hair. I usually just use it to wash my body with now.

I use Dr. Bronner's also and dilute it a tad. I love how my hair doesn't feel stripped but it is clean. If you order from their site you get free shipping if you spend $20 or more.

I've used Dr. B's castile soap and I have made my own castile soap both are great I use them to wash my hair, face and body.

Oh my goodness how the heck do you make your own castille soap!!! WOW. I was thinking about buying a gallon of dr bronners to use on my hair but it's kinda expensive. How do you make castille soap? I'm especially interested since I've decided to begin making my own real conditioner with either sunflower or almond oil. I've worked it out as actually being a bit cheaper than a bottle of pantene and yet completely natural with good quality ingrediants and completely customisable.

These days castile soap is all I use to wash my hair. Works well for me. It cleans without stripping.

When I am done with my NTM, I am going to switch to Dr. Bonner's!
I read all about it on drugstore.com and almost all the reviews were 5 stars and the ingredients are lovely...

You can buy the pure organic plain liquid castile soap and add your own essential and carrier oils HTH.

You can get a gallon of liquid castile soap for like 20 dollars or so from www.thechemistrystore.com They have excellent customer service and fast shipping.

Ahh I thought you were actually making it from scratch, you know with a vegetable oil and lye as in soap making. Dr Bronners is about £30 for a gallon in the uk, so I might see if can make my own one up and save money.
I really can't wait to make up my own conditioner and the cool thing is it will basically just be a cream made of almond oil and water plus a few extras. So I can use it as leave in/ not completely rinse it out after conditioning without wondering if I really should be leaving this in my hair. This is the recipe I found: http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/form_conditioners.html Look at the picture of it, it looks really good. I also love the look of this but to use on my hair: http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/form_whippedbutters.html
And I just found a recipe for liquid soap in their formulary!!!! :D

The less chemicals the better, plus a lot of the crap companies use in our bodycare and household stuff doesn't biodegrade and damages the environment and wildlife. Plus this will be of interest to anyone paying top dollar for aubrey organics. Make your own!

Recently i purchased Dr. Bronners Castille Tea tree. In a a 4 oz bottle I used 2 (2 oz)parts castile diluted w/ 1 part water (1 oz)and 1 part natures gate cypress conditoner (1 oz) and about a teaspoon of my palm nut oil. After I washed my hair it was extremely soft and clean...and usually I have build up on my scalp in a few days and I didn't have any. I don't know if it is becaause of my concoction. I am going to be using this a lot during the summer because I wash my hair a lot. A little went a long way for me. After lathering twice, I only used under an ounce. So it is very inexpensive. I am trying to be as simple as I can w/ my regimen cause I am getting lost in products!

I have a few recipes for making castille shampoo bars that I have formulated. If anyone is interested you can pm me. Be forewarned they involve dealing with lye.

I love castille soap. When I had locs I would use castille soap on my hair but now that I am relaxed I only use it on my skin. I especially love, peppermint, tea-trea, lavendar and almond.
