How do I use it do I shampoo and then put it on as a conditioner or can I deep condition first and the put it in and sit for a while

I shampoo first and then put on the cassia and let it sit on my hair for an hour or so. Then I rinse really well and follow-up with a conditioner.

Oh! Good question - I just purchased some to try between braidings.

How do you like it? What positive and negative effects does it have on your hair? What warnings or words of caution? What advice for first time users?

I've applied cassia twice in the past two months following the same steps as ravenmerlita. So far I'm not impressed: it hasn't had any effect on my hair either good or bad.

That's a bummer. :ohwell:

Any other experiences - positive, negative, or indifferent?

I use, I love it. It makes my hair look glossier and richer. It also gives body much like the Amla powder. It's also easy to mix, apply and rinse.

There is more information about Cassia in the Henna threads. A lot of people who henna also use Cassia just for it's conditioning properties.

This cassia stuff has turned me into a liar. LOL
I applied it to my hair over the weekend and Mon. & Tues. my hair felt dry and was shedding (or breaking) a great dea, just as much as before. I co-washed Tuesday evening and my hair feels much softer and hair loss has been reduced. Now I have about 2-4 times less hair in the sink when I comb in the evenings.
