Which one do you all prefer? Why? Wat is the pro & cons of both? More expenive vs. cheaper? And the Caruso Rollers release some type of heat? Is it damaging for the hair? How often do you use em?/?

I prefer Carusos.
Flexis are harder for me even though I've tried different tutorials, I still can't get them just right. Carusos are easier for me to do because I've been using them longer.

They are about the same in price when you look at the $30 you spend on Carusos and depending on how many packs of fleixs you need at about $4 a pack.

Carusos don't really release heat; they use steam to set your hair, and my hair actually feels more moisturized after using my carusos. So, they don't damage my hair. Some ladies use end papers with them, I usually just oil my ends lightly if I'm in a hurry. I use them sparingly some months and almost everyday other monts.. it really just depends.

I have some pics of styles done with Cauros in my fotki.

I think they are apples and oragnes to tell you the truth. I use them both and like them equally well.

The reason I say they are apples and oranges is because they both serve different purposes.

I use the flexi rods when I am stretching my relaxers because they provide a tighter curl and allow the two textures to blend better.

I use my carusos any time in the relaxer cycle. Mostly I use them if I was too lazy to roll my hair the night before and want a quick way to style without direct heat.

I don't have caruso's but i have vidal sassoon steam rollers which are pretty much the same. i rather use steam rollers because hey leave my hair hair more moisturized and u can get a curl in 10/15 mins and with flexi rods you have to leave them in for hours to get decent curl

TeeKay hit it right on the nail. Also Myztique, to answer your question about safety, Carusos can be used everyday. Carusos are completely safe because the heat it releases is steam, which moisturizes/hydrates the hair versus the hot damaging heat from a blow dryer or flat iron. Also flexis can be used to maintain a rollerset...put in just a few flexirods (various sizes) to bed, in order to maintain the curls the next day.

Oh yeah, I have the vidal ones. I just call 'em carusos to avoid confusion:grin:
