Does anyone still use this and is it healthy for ur hair. What do u put in ur hair before putting in the rollers???
Help...also how much did u pay for yours.
Natori - have you tried buying it online? I know I looked around for it for a while and then someone suggested Sally's. I got mine just late last year and I always still see them on the shelves. If they have them in my area, they must have them in your area b/c I can never find the other Sally's products that other people find.
I've tried looking online mostly on ebay though..they have some new sets and old sets. I'm not interested in the old used ones...but the new sets for sale on there have so many bids I will never get it. I called Sally's and a few other places and most never heard of them. I can't find anything here-Pure Unrefined Coconut Oil, Black Castor Oil, nor can I find Caruso sets.
Have you tried going into Sally's and looking around (not being condescending but just curious...don't know if it's near you or not)? The caruso sets that I see at Sally's are kind of hidden in the appliances aisle on the bottom shelf. I would have never known they were there had I not been told.
Since the nearest Sally's isn't that close to me I call first and inquire about things before going to the store to get whatever it is. They said they don't carry it. I don't recall seeing them there but during those times I wasn't specifically looking for them either. Now that I am I can't find them anywhere.
I do my Caruso set on dry hair in the morning. you can do your whole head if you have an extra set of jumbo rollers. in my set I only have 5 jumbo, so it's kind of hard to do the whole head with one size only. (you have to let the rollers dry for about 10 mins.)
It's a great steam treatment for your hair.
the only draw back for me it the fact that you cant really put anything on your hair that has water or oil as an ingredient in it before you roll it.
products makes the curl less defined, or they prevents you from getting a curl all together.
but outside of that I really love the full body it give me after I take the rollers out.

Natori, try telling them what the Sally item # is and then ask if they have it or can get it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where can I get the item number? I checked on their site but when the page was unavailable..that led me to believe that maybe all the Sally stores will eventually stop carrying them. It's like they're becoming extinct or something.

NYCITY - I LOVE my Caruso rollers and all the moisture it puts into my hair. What can be healthier than that! It isn't necessary to put products on your hair just before using it although I already have my leave-in and oils in my hair ahead of time. It should not be used on wet hair at all. I use them mostly for my bangs and to bump the ends on my braidouts. The curls last and only takes 5 - 10 minutes to set. There are instructions with it for Black hair, including relaxed and natural.
Ok I had the caruso curlers for a week or two. Maybe I was not using them right but my head was a frizzy mess....I did not go to school until I had time to redo it.
I find that my was a frizzy mess also and came to the conclusion that everyone can't use them. Foruntualy, I got my from Sally's so I just retured them.
i read on some site (while looking for this product) that you should apply some type of heat/straightening balm like Lanza Straightline Thermal Defense. Maybe that will help keep the frizzing down
I love mine I got mine at Sally's also, but try www.tenderheaded.com they have them. My hair turned out frizzy the first time I used them, but I also wasn't shaking them out before I put them on my head. They work really good on my hair now and my curls last for almost a week sometimes longer if I didn't wash my hair.
I agree w/Hairlove. The Sallys here in Long Island, NY keeps them near the register, but low down on a shelf that is easy to miss. I bought mine almost 2 months ago, but have not used them yet, I better before it's too late to return.

Hairlove, you were right. I went inside the Sally's today and the lady said that they have them for sale and she showed them to me on the aisle. They only had two left. I don't understand why the other lady lied over the phone and said that they don't carry them. Anyway, I wind up not getting them because the lady said that they don't work on pressed hair...she said they will make my hair revert. I wasn't planning on getting them today I just wanted to know for SURE if they actually sold them or not...you gave me the idea of just going to the store and checking for them...anyway..I was disappointed when she said they wouldn't work for my hair...if I'm not mistaken didn't someone say that it worked for ALL hair types including natural/pressed?
