WOW!!! /images/graemlins/shocked.gif I just peeped your album and i must say you have beautiful hair. /images/graemlins/love.gif

I just have 1 question:

1) How did you straigthen ur natural hair? From start to finish (ie. shampoo, cond, leave-in, serum, technique, blowdryer, flatiron, etc.) I know, it's alot but the more detailed you are, the less questions and PMs im gonna send ya /images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Thanks sweetie.

Now you know I am sitting here thinking...where is her album I must see.

I also wonder how she straightens her natural hair. How does she comb her hair straight enough before wrapping it around a roller?!?!?

Its has to be soaking wet with a fine/regular tooth comb, and then pulled very taut when you roll the hair. This was how my stylist did mines.

I'm natural too and loved the album! The twists & braidouts were cute but the rollerset nearly blew me away! Such inspriration! Except for straws & rods I haven't wet set my hair since the 70's (after getting my very first French Perm ...anyone here old enuff to remember those???) This weekend will be my first attempt...will report the results!

Thanks guys and thanks for the shout-out Caramelhonee! I'm a fan of your hair too! /images/graemlins/wave.gif

It's funny you should ask me this now because I just straightened my hair earlier this week to trim it! This time I blew out first then flat-ironed it. But my method of choice for straightening is roller-setting:

1. Wash/Cond hair usually with Pantene Hydrating Curls.
2. Apply a little bit of setting lotion or mousse (I like Smooth N Shine mousse.)
3. Roll hair using plastic rollers, securing them with metal clips. Like Ayeshia mentioned I have to constantly re-wet my hair as I roll because my hair just frizzes and shrivels up as it dries. Very wet hair makes it easier to manipulate and also ensures a smoother set.
4. Sit under the dryer for an hour or so.
5. After removing rollers I apply WGO, mostly to the ends. WGO is a must when I flat-iron, for some reason my hair doesn't come out as straight when I stray and use other products.
6. Flat-iron each curl, I have a flat-iron with 20 heat settings - for a sleeker, straighter look I'll use a setting of about 18 (this is very rare though), for the fluffy, bouncy, big-hair curly look I'll use a setting of about 12.
7. At night I'll wrap my hair - I wrap it tightly when going for the completely straight look, and I wrap it loosely when sporting the bouncy look.

I believe I covered everything. I actually will be sporting more roller-sets/straight hair this winter because I just need a change from my daily fro /images/graemlins/perplexed.gif . I plan to throw some twists in the mix too.

I hope this info helped /images/graemlins/grin.gif

THANKS Carefree... /images/graemlins/kiss.gif You have made a lot of ppl really happy 2day /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Last questions.
1) How much WGO do you use?
2) Do u use it per rolled section or just all over?
3) Do use it as a heat protectant?
4) What type of flat iron do you have?

Thanks.

Wow! Another gorgeous head of hair. This website speaks for itself through all of the gorgeous hair. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

No prob girl! I have learned so much on this board and definitely don't mind sharing /images/graemlins/grin.gif

1. I use about a drop of WGO on each curl.
2. I use it on each unrolled section and then after styling I may apply a little all over.
3. It works well as a heat protectant but I also like it because it helps me to avoid reversion somewhat.
4. I have an old Revlon flat iron that has 20 heat settings. I've had it for a while and it still does the trick. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Oh, you posted the Curly Pudding pic! It's absolutely gorgeous! /images/graemlins/grin.gif ...and the flatiron pic is beautiful! /images/graemlins/up.gif

You're hair is really beautiful, it's thick too and it's amazing how straight you got it. With all these beautiful heads of natural hair it almost makes me want to go natural, but I have to do some serious thinking on that one. /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif

How did I miss this album?! Your hair is gorgeous! You all are making me want to transition soooooooo bad! Keep up the amazing work with your hair!

Thanks so much everyone /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I use a Revlon flat iron that has 20 heat settings. WGO = Wild Growth Oil.

HTH!
