Can\'t take it!!!

Ladies, I can't take it anymore!!

Have you ever just hit the hairgrowth wall and can't seem to get past it? Mine seems to be at the very top of my brastrap. I've gotten it a little longer that that on a maybe 2 occasions.

Anyway, here I am, back at the top of brastrap and I can't get it to go any further. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm tempted to just cut it off and be done with it.

Keep the ends moisturized and protected (especially since it's beginning to get a bit chilly now).

Vitamins can help get you over that hump. I have used those in the past. Braids also seem to help me but they are not for everyone. Also if you are worrying yourself too much about getting over that hump then that could be part of the problem. I think our hair responds to stress and worry! Just do your normal routine and let your hair "be" for a while and see what happens. You may be pleasantly surprised! HHG

Since my last trim I think I've been at or close to the top of my brastrap. That was also the last time I had a relaxer, which was June.

I was thinking about that this morning...maybe I'm stressing about it too much. I'm just not seeing the growth and it's making me frustrated.

I think I'll either get braids, two strand twists, or start wearing my phonytail, then see what happens.

Yeah, my hair grew the longest when I was bacisall just washing, conditioning and leaving it alone. I don't even think I combed it! Ha Ha! It grew from chin length to about shoulderblade length in a little over a year. So just give your hair a little break, and don't stress over it! Keep us updated on what's going on!

I'm really hoping that being on Atkins/taking L-cysteine will also help. I'm happy that my hair is healthy, of course, but I'm discouraged that it's not getting longer.

Girl, you said it extra protein will really get that hair growing. I picked up on my protein intake recently along with biotin and my hair is growing quite nicely!

It is probably getting longer, it is just that you will be the last to notice. Do you have any pics?

Thank you. It's grown out a lot now but I don't know if I want to color it again or just get that same color in streaks.

Thank you, but like I said, that was 2 years ago. The length hasn't changed that much. Also, at the time, only my ends were relaxed....I was mainly natural then.

Anyhow, hopefully I'll be posting pics soon with longer hair.

Noooo, don't cut it. I'd kill to be there. I know how you feel I measured and I'm like 3.5" away from bra strap and it does'nt seem like it's gonna make it. But I figure, if were supposed get 6" a yr. (est), if I get just 1/2 that from now to next year by my birthday I'll REACH MY GOAL.....

Where do you want to be? Waist? YOu may have just hit a plateau, but don't give up...

I keep hitting this plateau. My goal is waist..I have a short torso so that's only another 6 inches or so. I am so discouraged but I'm trying to hold on.

Please Don't Speak Defeat over your hair. This is just a hair hurdle that needs to be jumped. We all experience this from time to time. Just use the advice from all the wonderful ladies here and stay positive. I am so sure you will start seeing progress! Please I want to say how important it is not to stress out over this. Just keep up with giving you hair the TLC it needs and you should get over this hump. Remember also "<font color="blue"> If you can think it you can do it! </font>"

I can TOTALLY relate. I have complained to anyone who would listen about hitting that top of bra strap plateau. I was at the top of my bra strap for 1 year....you can just imagine my frustration. The only think I could think of was maybe my hair was in a slow stage. I think the fact I started taking Brewer's yeast (a lot of Bs) has helped some...it sure has helped my nails. They never used to grow this long and strong before it. Thank God, my hair as of Sept 2003 was about 2" past end of bra strap. I chopped off 1" because of a mishap in Ghana, so I am now at 1" past end of bra strap and the hair is all even at the ends. I was taking the B.Y., 3 of them daily from Mar to May then I went down to 1 daily from June to August. Then I started back up in September at 3 daily. But, I have been forgetting to take it so it has been whenever I remember. I'm gonna try to go back to daily. I wonder what would happen if I bumped it to 6 daily. Hmmmmm! I think I will try it and see how the hair ad nails are in 2 months.
Anyhoo, I'm going on and on. My whole point is, there is hope. Try braids for a while to get you to focus elsewere. Oh yeah, it grew within the months I was away...maybe cause I forgot about my hair in that time.

Thanks, Faith. I'm really considering braids again. I'm trying not to get frustrated but I'm sure you can understand that it's so hard not to.

Maybe braids are the answer.
