Can you reccommend a good coconut oil?

If you are on a serious budget and have an Indian Store in the neighborhood go there and get the food grade coconut oil in the jar. It is just as good as anything you would buy from a Whole foods, Trader Joes or any other natural food store.

In any event the food grade coconut oil is the best. IMO

I use the Vitamin Shoppe brand

i love it! :)

my fave. coconut oil is by emerald laboratories. its unrefined and it smells just like coconuts. its so smooth and soft when you touch it. unlike the spectrum which was the first coconut oil i tried.

I get mine on sale when Puritan's Pride has their big sales. Or I use parachute and order it on line it's usually fairly cheap. You can find a lot of well priced brands on Amazon as well.

I love Vatika and Ramtirth. Vatika is almost always available at an Indian grocers though a few will carry Ramtirth too. KamdarPlaza.com is an online option that lacks the insane markup of most online Indian/Ayurvedic product sellers.

I've used Spectrum in the past and found it left a weird smell after a couple days. I couldn't deal with the smell and almost gave up on coconut oil until I started using the Puritan Pride kind. It's great.

I love Nutiva Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. I use Dabur Vatika Oil too but wouldn't consider it as a coconut oil recommendation b/c it has so many things mixed into it.

Indian stores is right..nice varieties there. The heath food stores are cool but the prices are nothing compared to the discounts at the Indian grocers.
