Right before relaxing ? I have a bottle at home and plan to get a relaxer tomorrow morning. The ingredients in WGO are pretty good, and it will do a good job at softening my new growth for the hairdresser when she parts my hair .
I'm feeling "no" because though WGO has olive and coconut oils, it also contains minerals and other ingredients that may react negatively with the relaxer. I've used WGO before, and it actually made my scalp tingle a bit, so I'd personally be hesitant about using it with a relaxer. Also, the oil is quite heavy, and it you relax your hair bone-straight, this may cause some penetration issues. If you texlax, not so much a problem. You see, relaxer base is designed to melt at body temperature to create a barrier, so it's quite light.
I don't know if that's a good reasoning or not, but I'm sure others will weigh in!
I wouldnt do it...one time I used too much WGO and it took about a week for the oily residue to completely wash away. I just think its too heavy. Maybe you could lightly massage your scalp with it before your touch up?
