Can the baggy method replace deep conditioning?

I started my healthy haircare journey in November of 2009 and started doing all the things I learned here on LHCF. Things have been going well so far (1 1/2 inches retained length :yep:) but now that I'm almost at my 3 month mark I feel a need to simplify my regimen if I'm going to remain consistent.

On Monday when I washed I pre-pooed with amla oil and ORS replenishing conditioner ( I left in on for a few hours), washed with CON shampoo & diluted peppermint castille soap and used Identitiy's nature's silk hair whip as a leave- in and castor oil to seal my ends. After baggying on Tuesday night I'm really feeling like I might just eliminate dcing from my routine if I'm baggying anyways. I feel like baggying my whole head 5-6 nights a week amounts to 40+ hours of mini- deep conditioning treatments. The whole in and out the shower thing when i'm dcing is a pain and i don't know how necessary it is.

Has anyone skipped DCing for an extended period and still had positive hair results? Even if you haven't what are your thoughts?

Oh yeah, I'm natural with 4a/4b hair.

I don't do DC's often because I'm in a weave 90 percent of the time. I just wash my hair and moisturize my braids. I DC once I take the weave down but that's once every six weeks. My hair is growing just fine.

good to know. i wear protective style pretty much everyday, so i'm hoping breaking one LHCF "rule" won't hurt my progress.
