the post or explain exactly how to use oils? I know you don't just put them straight from the bottle into your hair. TIA
 
Actually I do. I don't apply them to dry hair though, because they tend to just sit there and look greasy. But after I wash/condition, I apply my leave-in and then just pour the oil in my hands and apply it throughout my hair down to the ends. Then I style it however.

If I'm doing a pre-shampoo/hot oil treament. I pour the oil into an applicator bottle first. That way I can get it down to my scalp and as I massage my scalp it works it's way down to the ends.

Now that I've read Brooke's post, I should clarify that I was talking about carrier oils like jojoba, olive, coconut, avocado . . .

Essential oils like peppermint, rosemary, clove, etc. should always be added to a carrier oil first.
