Similiar thing happens to me.

I just curl my hair with flexi-rods and they last all day (and longer). :yep:

Umm, I don't know why your hair is not holding a curl.

I do spiral sets on my hair all the time, setting with plain water on 1" magnetic rollers, and my curls last for a week...even enduring my 3-4 workout sessions.

How long is your hair and what size roller are you using?

This used to happen to me when I used an iron... What I do now is curl it under really tight and wrap my hair for 30 minutes. The end result is a nice bump on the ends that lasts all day

How are you curling it? When my hair was relaxed it was about armpit length and my curls would last for about a week. I would wash it, use a moisturizer and keep the curlers(small plastic with the connected caps) in and let it dry over night.
