Can Serum Be Used the Same Way As Oil?

I'm wondering how it can be used since I have two bottles sitting in my bathroom. I don't know what to do with them. I received them probably three years ago.

I use it as oil. However, that is because my hair gets very oily and weighed down if I use any type of oil or hair grease. The hair serum at night is enough to moisturize my hair when it is flat ironed, but not enough when natural.
