Invisible braids are tiny braids that are braided abt 1-2 inches from your scalp and then left loose at the ends so it looks like weave. I had them years ago but I am relaxed. I would think that you could get them as a natural only if your hair was super short or you braided the hair to the ends of your natural hair. If your real hair is too long then it will just look like micros and if you don't braid to the end of your hair then the natural hair will be sticking out of the weave hair. HTH!
They are like microbraids, only you braid just a small section of the hair to hold in the extension then leave the rest of the hair unbraided to give the illusion of having hair that's combed out and not braided.
Invisible braids look good if the unbraided part of your hair can blend in with the extension hair so you need both textures to match. In other words, I don't think it'd look right on 4B hair unless the extension hair you're using is 4B hair and behaves like it. Otherwise your hair would have to be so short that the braided part is all it is, so that your hair isn't contained in the unbraided part.
That seems like it would defeat the purpose of protective styling. I guess that can be like a low manipulation style. I don't think I ever seen that type of hair style with kinky textures. What hair type does your friend have?
If you have longer natural hair then your best bet would be to get cornrow based tree braids, as your real hair will be braided down and the extension hair will be the only thing thats "out" eliminating the need for blending.
I wouldn't do it. They only braid the top so that means if your hair has some length to it, it would be hanging out in the wind. It also may not blend with the braiding hair.
