I DONOT WANT BURGUNDY HAIR!!! That's the only thing I am worried about. Can anyone give any hints as to how to avoid a burgundy color. I amloving this color on janet! It's exactly the look I think I have been considering.

I agree with PerfectD, you're gonna get red undertones if you use pure henna. If you use the store brands (Light Mountain or something like that), they MAY be able to do that but it's not pure henna so I'd be careful with those.

I agree with the others that henna must be mixed with indigo, alma, etc. in order to tone down the red. You might want to do a "harvest test" (or several, like I did) in order to see how YOUR hair will come out. I saved the hair in my comb and did couple of different mixtures of henna/indigo and tested the harvested hair to see which mix would result in a color I liked before doing a full henna.

You may want to go to www.hennaforhair.com.

They have a great forum on there where henna users talk about their different mixes and how they achieve the colors they want. Some have it down to a science...using henna and other herbs to get real dark brown (with no red!), golden brown, you name it, but the red is totally toned down.

As for getting the color Janet has on her head, I think it can be done...however, you may have to do alot of hairball/strand testing to get it the exact shade you want. Good luck! :)

I am going to research and get in touch with balisi to see what she thinks. maybe she can do it for me. What color would you think Janet is wearing? Anyone wanna take a guess?
And thanks ladies
TIA
