I've head of Take Down and Treasured Locks Knot No More..do these make the process easier? Or can I just use a conditioner?

Take Down Hair cream works well. You may need more than one bottle though. I used it some years ago to un-mat my hair.Make sure your dreads are saturated and you let the cream penetrate for about 20-30 minutes. I actually let it stay on overnight with a plastic cap on. You could also use cheap conditioner (it needs to be on the thicker side) with olive oil added. Good Luck!!!

I used suave and a safety pin. good luck! try that take down stuff or anything that's cheap and has good slip cause ur gonna needs a lot of it

AstroQueen77, I read that Hawaiian Silky worked great. Can't remember where I seen that. It might have been here on LHCF.

healthyhair2, would Take Down work for regular detangling? My hair gets crazy matted sometimes. And, where is it purchased?

HAWAIIAN SILKY! Big bottle and slather it in the section you will work on. Let it soak in for a while, then use more on the loc you are working on! HAWAIIAN SILKY. THE BIG BOTTLE. SAY IT WITH ME, HAWAIIAN SILLLLLLKKKKY

I dont have locs, my sister does and wants help from me. I'm a natural with a BKT. She just wants a change of pace and got inspired when she saw YT videos about it being possible to take down locs.

Don't try to do too many at one time. This process will take a very long time. I would suggest only a few each day.

I can't see any mentions on my IPhone. PM me if it is a must see. Allons y

You have to get Take Down online, and unfortunately it is about $13 a bottle!!! I still was living in NYC when I needed it. I was able to get it from a lady in Bushwick then. I was lucky.I had to wear a cap for 3 days :).

Thanks divachyk and HanaKuroi

The Hawaiian Silky 14-in-1 worked great. I had some time off work and we worked through her locs through several days. What I did was apply it to her dreads...made her sleep in a scarf so that it can soak in. The next morning, we started going at it.

I also used this on my own natural hair and was surprised at how soft it made it. Saturated my hair and did some two strand twists. My hair is so moist! I'm considering only getting a BKT once a year because of it. Thanks so much!
