Ride OR Die QB STANS That Have Found Alternates!

...as for the rest of you, you all know who you are...:lachen::lachen::lachen:

So, I wanted to make this as brief as possible.

What do you all think either compares to Qhemet as far as moisture, detangling, and sealing or blows it completely out of the water. I have been hearing that people have found better or equally good options so I am all ears.

To flesh out this thread, you can also share former staple vendors that you have left behind and later replaced with something better.

:yay: Let the hair product Olympics begin!

I like Qhemet Biologics. I've been able to get most of mine on a Swap with other posters which is the only time I use it.

Most of the Full Sized Products I own, I've gotten them via Swap.

I have no issue with this line. The one time I did buy some samples (long ago directly from Qhemet) I had no problems with Shipping or Customer Service.

The transaction went smoothly.

Instead of calling on PJ's - Your Thread should have asked Qhemet users or Qhemet STANS.

You might get more feedback if you would have asked for Qhemet users.

I only use it when I get it on a swap.

The only thing that I have tried from Qhemet was the AOHC and that was before the hhj, so I didn't know how to use it and wasted half the jar. :look: Also I bought it directly from a brick and mortar store. You're probably familiar with Back to the Land in Brooklyn. Anyway, I've gotten really good results with Bee Mine Luscious Balanced Cream Moisturizer. It is thick and long lasting. I love it, but it is pricey. :nono: Plus they are not free from CS issues as noted in the vendor's forum. :ohwell:

chebaby Brownie518 would probably know better than me.

I have used/tried Qhemet in the past. I've used the Burdock Root Cream, Heavy Cream, Detangling Gee and the morninga something.

This line is ok for me but they are not on my "die to try" list. I hope some die hard Qhemet folks can shed some knowledge for you.

I recall reading that WestNDNBeauty was able to find alternatives for her staple Qhemet products, and if I'm not mistaken, she has a blog, too.

PJaye

I think she replaced them with B.A.S.K. if I recall correctly. I will have to go back and check. Thank you!

I've liked everything I've ever tried from QB:

Amala Olive and Heavy Crème
Burdock Root
Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee
Olive Honey Balm
Karady Tea Rinse
Moringa DC'er
Ap (whatever butter)
Tea Tree Pomade

All these things I've gotten on Swaps. If you can get it via Brick & Mortar, I certainly would rather than ordering from someplace on line.

Early in my HHJ, the BRBC mixed with the OHHB effectively cured me of my dryness and crispy ends. However, I haven't had a need for it in years; I have 3 jars of stuff sitting around growing old. Besides, I was turned off a few years ago after that sale/no sale fiasco. I didn't like how it all went down, and I demonstrated my disgust by patronizing elsewhere.

I liked everything I ever tried from them too. I have been ride or die Qhemet since the beginning. I have moved from NYC to Portland Oregon however, so there are no brick and mortar places where I can get it. I ordered from them online and aside from that double payment issue that I resolved with Paypal everything did go smoothly. I did't have to wait long for the products either. That being said...I been hearin' some thangs...on these here e-streets... It makes me think I should start a list of alternatives.

Well, so far I have Marie Dean and B.A.S.K. listed as Qhemet alternatives.

I came up in here quick but I never used qhemet before so I can't be of help:ohwell:

Lurks thread...:look:

I got most of my stash from @chebaby She can get it Brick & Mortar.

She constantly buys it then she decides she doesn't like/want/need it so we'll do a 'swap.'

So, it works out great for me and I don't have to deal with any direct drama.

I live right by the qhemet headquarters so I can get the stuff on ground easily. I did not like them they made my hair greasy and did not detangle for me. I tried the amla/olive, burdock root and coca tree detangling ghee. I likef the burdock at first but then I started getting greasy hair. My least fav is the amla olive

Ya'll need to stop.

Okay....Get them list made errrly. Buy some Tea/Coffee whatever you Drank and be ready in November.:yep:

If ya'll got to cook, travel etc.....you better come up with a good game plan.

In '11 I was traveling (without my Laptop), I missed a bunch of Sales and didn't want family to know how serious the Hair Game is, so I missed out on a lot of deals. :ohwell:

I did manage to buy a few thangs here & there when I got back, but for the most part I missed it.

Made up for it though in '12.
