My new relaxer is no-lye, I don't know the brand. But it's working well (for now, I'm only on week 1 & 1/2). I wanted to know how is your no-lye hair??? I know it has a reputation for making your hair dryer. It was used on my hair to minimize damage because it's dyed. I remember Peachtree had really long, well maintained no-lye relaxed hair, /images/graemlins/orders.gif"is there anyone else" *said in my Gladiator voice*

I've been using TCB no mix, no lye. I use it on my edges that are left out of my weaves and every 12 weeks or so on my roots just so I can comb thru them.

yes... i am having much success with lye-free phytorelaxer.....my hair looks and feels healthier than ever.... /images/graemlins/up.gif

Mine is yummy. I don't know the difference btwn lye & no-lye in my hair. But my PhytoRelaxer is no-lye and I haven't had issues. I have to fight dryness anyway (natural or relaxed) so I have noticed no marked increase. The best part is I can now moisturize w/conditioners, condition wash or just let it get steam in the shower and my hair doesn't revert and is exposed to more moisture @ the same time. I think it's in great condition b/c I'm holding on to all of new growth and am a little ahead of pace (in terms of growth). /images/graemlins/cheers.gif

I used African Pride No-Lye relaxer. If I've experienced dryness, it's not in areas that I relaxed, only where my hair has been exposed to enourmous amounts of wind, air, and cold. I'm afraid of lye relaxers despite some of the results many ladies who use them recieve.

I use Soft & Beautiful No lye.

I use this, too, and have for about ten years, about every four months or so. It's never caused dryness for me and my hair has always seemed healthy to me. I usually keep it about lower back to waist-length and my ends are even and don't seem to split, so this relaxer doesn't cause breakage for me either.

Editing to add that it's nice to see that someone else uses this. I always see so many other brands mentioned as favorites. We must be the only two ladies keeping them in business. /images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Hey MsK! I'm a no-lye user with healthy relaxed hair as well. I'm currently bra-strap length and I've been using no lye forever. I thought about switching but decided that 'if it ain't broke than don't try to fix it.' /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Oh Ms. Gorgeous Hair One, I didn't no you were a no-lyer!

Thanks MsK! If no-lye is working for you, I'd stick with it.

When I was texturized I was using no-lye. The only times I had a bad reaction to a relaxer it was a lye one. My hair & scalp and no-lye just did not mix.

Wow, I feel so self conscious posting with all the beautiful haired no-lyers. I switched back to no-lye (Elasta QP) when I started my healthy hair challenge and my hair now has a high shine and healthy.

I use PhytoRelaxer and my hair is in the best condition it's ever been since I started relaxing 15 years ago. I previously used Affirm and had breakage and dryness. But to be fair I also take much better care of my hair than I ever did before.

I believe I had no-lye and my hair grew really long and healthy. I worked to keep it from getting dry though I don't know if the no-lye was the culprit.

I am a newbie with no lye. I've only had it applied three times. I love no-lye because it doesn't inflame my scalp like lye did (scalp dermatitis sufferer, here. My hair hasn't appeared drier than normal.

DITTO!! I want hair like Cleo when I grow up /images/graemlins/trampoline.gif
