When I hit waist I stop
I have a big question, I have only been wearing my hair in it's natural state since May and I wanted to know what you guys do to style your hair in the winter

Well, when I lived int he south I just did the same thing I do in the summer, rinse with conditioer and go. The only difference was that I would do the rinse at night and then pull my hair back in a scrunchie or braid and then spritz in the morning with a little water/conditoner mixure and then fluff out and go. This winter, since I live int he awful midwest, I will be wearing braids and twists and wigs a lot more often.

This past winter, my staples were coconut oil and pure vitamin e oils on my ends to prevent my hair from drying out. I wore my hair in either in two braids cross-pinned or in twists most of the time. In the winter time, I don't mess around so I always wear a hat when going outside. Sometimes I would wash/rinse my hair, pull it back, tie a satin scarf on my head, put on my hat and be out the door.

I wear a bun, use a scarf and go out with a hat, too.

Wildchild, I'm in California. So my winter styles are really no different than my other season styles. Aaaah, the joy of living in a state that doesn't have extreme winters

ITA, Chicoro has some gorgeoous hair!

As for myself, I utilize scarves and two strand twists/braids to save my hair during the winter.

Chicoro your hair is lovely...

as far as my hair I was in a really cold climate last winter so I would wear flat twist, twist outs, I'd twist with mango butter to protect my hair and braids

oh, i forgot to add mine...i usually keep my hair in extensions during the school year...and now that i know better, i will take better care of it while i have the braids in...

ditto!! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! CANT wait till I get there!!

I'm afraid about the cold weather, too. Since I BC'd in Feb. my hair started growing mainly in the spring and a lot of times I rinse or CW in the morning and I know I can't do that in the winter. I might get braided extensions when it's cold.

I just conditioner wash my hair at night and in the morning put it in a ponytail!

That is some beautiful hair!

In the winter i wear plenty of protective styles that dont expose my ends to the cold air. I like the 2 strand twists because they fit under my hat. My washing/conditioning regimen remains the same. I just tend to use more heavier products on my ends.

Wow chicoro our blow dried hair looks very similar. very pretty.

I will make sure my wool coat has a silk scarf over the collar. I will make sure that my hats are lined with silk or satin.

I guess I am going to have to practice more twisting my hair so that it is "public suitable"! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I planning on wearing a bun most of the winter. I will be using a bun donut most likely. I'd like to leave it on for 2-3 days without touching it but I am not sure if this will be healthy for my hair or not. I may have to take it down every night.

I will be deep conditioning under a hooded dryer weekly. I stopped doing this in the spring/summer, and I believe my hair suffered for it. I will also wear plenty of protective styles, and concentrate on keeping my ends moisturized.

My summer and winter regime are the same, I daily rinse, my hair is either in flat twists or single twists, however I have been using Queen Helene Cholestrol conditioner, since last week and I cover my hair with a beret, which has a lining.

Since I just big Chopped in July, I am really new to this. But I only mist my hair in the morning as opposed to doing a full CW. I still suck at twists, and can't afford a beauty salon right now so I am just rocking the twa.

I also agree with everyone's rave reviews on Chicoro's hair, its jaw dropping gorgeous!
