my brain is fried (no pun intended, haha) with all these choices in flat Irons. I'm really hoping some pics will help me decide!

I dont wanna press (too much dang work) there must be an easier way!

I would definitely want a temp control dial too

Its a run between three (unless somethin else happens lol) the FHI, the SEDU and the Maxigluide/Minigluide combo

I dont know what tah do. :perplexed:

anyway, It would be cool to have all the flat Iron albums/pics and kind used in one place (my thinking anyway)

I have pics in my album. Link is in siggy. My stylist used a Solano Sapphire. He used a silk protein heat protectant with added silicone.

I got Maxiglide pics. I used Redken heat glide but I'm gonna try Sabino Moisture block the next time I flat iron.

I looooove my Maxiglide :D You do have to get used to holding and working it but the results are wonderful.

Girl, let me find out you're switching to a Sedu flat iron. You know I purchased the Ion Flat Iron after chatting with you about it. Honestly, I haven't used it in months. Now once you get that Sedu and use it, I'll have to ask you about that one too. ;L

I have a few as well. I have the Maxiglide and the Chi and like both irons. I like the Maxiglide to get the hair straight but the Chi gives me nice curls.

Love your album!

I really enjoy my Maxiglide. Its the teeth and ceramic combined. I like it so much I'm considering the miniglide EVENTHOUGH it doesn't have a temp. control. I don't have any recent pics though... *runs out of the thread before tomatoes start flying*

You betta run...u know we been waiting:look:

I don'th ave any pics of my hair flat ironed but you can check my album for pics of my hair just blowdried to get an idea. www.fotki.com/mynadidas.

Here's what I was told when I was shopping around:
- Get a flat iron that has the ceramic/Tourmaline combination. Tourmaline seals cuticles allowing your hair to hold in moisture while flat ironing.
- Get a flat iron with variable heat control. I actually went against the grain with this, and bought the Chi Ulta (Ceramic/Tourmaline - only comes in 1") which heats up to 410. I LOVE THE THING. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I use KMS Flat Out Anti-Humidity spray afterwards to retain the straightness without humidity taking its tool on my damn head.

Because I'm a serious product junkie, I've bought 4 or 5, taken them back and tried something new. Note: I flat iron my hair probably once a month.

T3 Tourmaline 1" Duality - ok. Flat ironed my hair well, but by the time I got to the front (I start in the back) the back started to display a slight amount of curl. Went to the club, and had to tie my hair up in the middle of the night cuz it was starting to "grow". $119 - $169 (depending on which one you get and where).

Chi Ultra 1" (Red) - Loved it. I've actually decided to go back to the store and buy this (again) and make it my staple flat iron. Heats up to 410 degrees, quickly. Can curl and flip using the iron. Went to the club (I was in Vegas)...danced my booty off for about 4.5 hours, came home and my hair WAS STILL STRAIGHT. The curls (from the flat iron) were gone, but my hair was straight. That, my friends, is a damn miracle. $139.

Solia 1" (Black/Blue) - Loved it. Great flat iron. Heats up to 450. I used it on about 390. Can curl and flip using the iron. The ONLY reason I'm choosing the Chi over the Solia is because the CHI comes with 4 bottles of Biosilk's Silk Therapy that I like. otherwise, I'd say this is just as good as the Chi (and about $30 cheaper). Maybe I will get a solia?! $89.95 on folica.

Chi Turbo (the black with red velvet) - 1". Ok. Flat ironed my hair well, but my hair reverted. Did not feel as moisturized as it did with the Tourmaline/Ceramic combination. $119.00

BaBybliss 1" - piece of junk. Save your money. :)

:::whispers::: I tried the Maxiglide also. Folks either LOVE it or hate it. I hated it. Snagged on my hair. My hair was straight for about 30 minutes and then poofed up. Not a fan, but don't let me influence you cuz a lot of folks seem to dig it.

Oh wait - products I use when I flat iron.

Aphogee Green Tea and Keratin Spray.
KMS Flat Out Heat Pressing Spray

When I'm done, I spray my head with some KMS Flat Out Anti-Humidity spray.

But I did go out and purchase KeraCare's Heat Press Wax and Sheen spray (which are supposed to do the same as the Flat Out Heat Press and Anti-Humidity) . Damn that MaCherieAmour....my KeraCare collection is slowly taking over my bathroom.
