I found that my hair laughs at the Revlon Realistic relaxers. I'm going to try Creme of nature regular. My hair is relaxed and texturized mix. I'm hoping to fully relax my hair. Or I'll be texturized a bit more..... :ohwell:

Affirm no-lye user for 12 years, transitioning to Dudley's Lye Mild. I'm currently 3 months post relaxer and going strong...thanks to daily co-washing and protective styling.

I think that I haven't had a problem with Affirm because of my routine.
I use to shampoo and deep condition once per week, and use a Nexxus Omni Pack once every 6 weeks. I also use to blow-dry once a week, and wore my hair in a french braid all week.

Truth is no-lye relaxers are more damaging to the hair than lye, so that's why I've decided to transition.

Which relaxer are you currently using? How long have you been using this relaxer? Have you experienced any thinning w. this relaxer?

Due to all the hype about the negative effects of Affirm Lye, I may be shopping for a new relaxer. :ohwell: I think I'm going to do some research. Thanks for responding. :yep:
I'm using Motions Salon Herbals right now. I don't keep it on as long as they recommend, I try not to get it bone straight, just workable. I think this has helped protect the roots from thinning. I'm now just growing out the thin ends. I think those ends were from when I used No-Lye & my hair was damaged.
I've been using Motions for about 1 yr. Before that I was using CON. I switched because I wanted to see if Motions would be better for my hair since it claimed to have some natural ingredients & Aloe. So far so good.

I have been using Affirm Lye Mild for about 2 years with no thinning, shedding, breakage, etc. As a matter of fact, I remember experiencing breakage when I used other relaxer systems such as Motions. But that was probably because I didn't rinse the relaxer as well as I thought I did. I use the whole system - neutralizer, Protecto, Positive Link conditioner mixed with 5-n-1. My hair feels extremely soft.

Interesting to see Fiberguard users here. My 4 lb tub of Affirm Lye is just about done, and when I'm ready to relax again in 2 months I want to try Fiberguard.

For the ladies using Fiberguard - are you going to salons for relaxers, or doing them at home? Do you find Affirm Fiberguard in the bss?
