Anyone use heat on a regular basis and find it has had no problem in hindering their hair growth or cause extra breakage???

I use heat and my hair is very healthy :yep:
I used to use heat once a week but have cut back to every 2 weeks. My scalp may suffer a bit for an extra week but at least my hair gets a break from the heat and manipulation.
After it's straightened I try to leave it alone.

I use heat once every 5 to 7 days to dry and style my hair. I rollerset and then wrap for a straight look or use satin rollers to maintain my curls.

I dont use heat at all during the week. I find that using rollers and wrapping work just fine.

Im sure that if I cut out heat completely, my hair would grow faster and all but Ive found this to be a happy medium. My conditioning and product keep me from breaking and my hair keeps growing and growing:lol:

I've used heat on my hair 2 to 3 times a week and it didn't affect my growth at all. My hair was healthy too. However, I've noticed that since I've cut down on the heat usage, my hair is even healthier. I didn't even know that that was possible.

I use heat once or twice a week. My hair is doing okay, but I know it would be better if I cut down on it.

I would only use heat once a week (double heat - hooded dryer AND ceramic flat iron :nono: ) Kills my ends, so I'm cutting it down to once a month, if that.

How often do you all wash? My problem is that I like to wash my hair 3-4 times a week and I don't know how to "not" blow dry. When I air dry, it comes out crinkly. Perhaps, my new Maxiglide will help with that problem??? I haven't used it yet.

Any advice?

Ya know, now that I think about it, when I used to use heat every week after my wash my hair was pretty healthy, though I did find that I often needed my ends trimmed. Since I've almost cut out heat altogether, I've been having issues....airdrying hasn't been as good to me as I thought it would.....:perplexed

I use heat once a week to flat iron my roots/hair, depending on how much new growth I have. Sometimes, I also do a roller set. During the week, I just wrap, or use satin rollers to maintain my style as well.

Once a week. After I wash my hair, I air dry and then flat iron. I wrap it or put it in a loose pony for the rest of the week and tie it up. I don't experience breakage. I use Dudleys creme press when I flat iron.

I am the same way!!! I am trying to learn rollersets because of this very reason.

I made the mistake of using a new dryer that actually get hotter and I even got more stupid by using the comb attachment !!!

I stopped that and lower the temp, but I need to beat this heat!!!

have you tried to air dry it in a ponytail... what you do is comb all your hair in a low ponytail and apply a sealnt such as oil.. then twist the tail(end of ponytail) and secure it... should dry overnight and be smooth.:)

I use a blow dryer (gasp! w/ comb attachment) and my ceramic once a week. To keep my blow dryer kind to me this is what I do:

Comb out my hair B4 I start blowdrying. Blow dry my hair on cold until it starts drying up a bit then switch to medium heat. I don't focus on my ends as much as on my roots. OOPS forgot to mention that before I blow dry I put in small dollop of ntm plus my redkin heat protectant. Then I use my flat iron.

I use heat twice a week, although I'm trying to cut down to once. My hair doesn't respond well to airdrying at all. So after my washes I end up drying it under my Ion Soft Bonnet Dryer and flat ironing it the next morning. I don't know, I need to find a product that will curl up my hair so I can do wash-n-go's.
