What are your favorite products? nothing ever seems to work. it works on the little relaxed hair i got left but nothing for the texlaxed.

also tell what dosnt work.

what shampoo
conditioner
leave in
moisturizer
what are u doing to it

I don't shampoo much. I daily CW. My hair just thrives on it. I use herbal essence hello hydration and once or 2x a month use a mosturizing poo by V05.

I deep condition w. my ORS mayo mixed w. honey, MSM powder, and cayenne pepper. I just try to keep things simple. So far, this has helped my hair more than any other regiment I've done in the past. At night I just MTG, Surge, and add S curl to my hair. I part it in two sections and tie it down with my silk scarf. This is my keep it simple method.

I am texlaxed here are the products that I use:

what shampoo Keracare 1st Lather; Keracare Moisturizing Shampoo (Love It)
conditioner ORS Mayo; Phyto Organics Humectin
leave in Giovanni Leave in
moisturizer Mango Butter; Nature Blessing
what are u doing to it Protective styling-- braids; weaves

Texlaxed lady checking in. I am not doing it by choice. I self relax and I am always too scared to leave the relaxer in too long.

what shampoo Kenra Clarifying and Roux Porosity Control Shampoo - This one has made me want to throw out all others!
conditioner I can use many conditioners, but I love Mane N Tail original for rinse outs and Motions Moisture plus for longer, under the dryer conditions. For protein (rarely) I use Aphogee Keratin 2 min or Joico K-pak.
leave in fermodyl ampoules 619 and Qhemet's Sidr Tree Butter Balm
moisturizer Herbal Essences Smoothing cream (discontinued but I am stocked up) or Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine leaave-in (but this one needs to be sealed with oil. I like Kemi Oyl)
what are u doing to it I shampoo and condition 2 times a week. One of those I just use a rinse conditioner and the other I get other the dryer. I use henna and cassia mixed with plain yogurt and amla oil every week or 2 for strength and thickness.

I airdry my hair most times, but most times it takes so long that I have to finish it off with a cool-warm blowdry or a few min under the dryer. Then I flat-iron. I have tried self rollersetting 4 times and every time it turns out BAD BAD BAD. I cannot get my hair straight enough and still have to flatiron. That is a waste for me so I's rather just airdry and flatiron, although I have not given up on rollersets yet.

I used to use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny shampoo, conditioner, and serum and it worked wonderfully. It was leaving too much build up for me though I think so I am in the process of rethinking my regimen. The main things that have helped me is detangling under running water, using Paul Mitchell The Rinse as my detangler, and then adding Lacio Lacio as my leave-in to soaking wet hair. I then comb my hair with a rat tail comb (remarkably it's been working b/c I detangled so well), put my hair in a pony tail (perhaps two) braid the hair in the ponytail, put a scarf on and go. I also add oil after putting on the leave-in. I'm still experimenting with what kind I use. I've used amla and keracare. I think that jojoba may be the winner. Oh, and it's been really helpful for me to use a serum after or before the oil (don't know if it matters which order). I usually can't airdry, but this has been working really well for me so far. I'm two months post so we'll see as time goes on. I do know that my hair has been looking better than it had been when I was blowfrying it. HTH

what shampoo-Neutrogena Triple Moisture, Elucence Moisture Benefits, Sunsilk Hydra TLC. Basically, moisturizing shampoos are what I use most.
conditioner-Silicon Mix, Elucence Moisture Balance, Sunsilk Hydra TLC, ORS Replenishing Pak, various Suave conditioners.
leave in-Salerm 21, Lacio Lacio
moisturizer-I don't really have one. Coconut Oil maybe?
what are u doing to it- Not much. I wash/condition or condition wash and let it air dry. I rarely use heat. I wear it in a ponytail or bun nearly every day.

Texlax represent'n!

I use the Pantene "Natural and Relaxed" No Breakage System or NTM entire system!

I wash once a week with NTM Shampoo or Pantene.
Co Wash with any conditioner I am trying that I am trying to get rid of. I also mix it with Olive oil on wenesday nights.

I comb my hair under running water...usually cold running water.

After washing, I saturate my hair with Pantene Detangling (Creme Based) Leave In Conditioner. Parting my hair into 4 sections make an easy application. I also saturate it in IC Fantasia Heat Protectant and Straightener. Then I blow dry my hair with a ionic hair dryer (comb).

Once about 85% dry I put NTM Serum on my ends and pull back into a ponytail and BUN IT!..

I moisturize my hair 2 X a day with my mix! MTG,Surge,Peppermint Oil, Sulfur 8 and WGO.

GNC Hair Norish Vitamins with MSM has helped me out alot!!

I havent gotten the air drying thing down packed. Beleive it or not...I think my hair likes heat! Its doing a whole lot better with it than it did without it. I also had to learn to use the blow dryer properly.

I dont really have a particular moisturizer I use on the regular. My hair usually stays pretty moist with the Proclaim Gloss I use from time to time.
As far as what doesn't work for me:

AIRDRYING!
Using Hair Weaves incorporated with Protective Styles (Braids etc etc). Makes my strands mushy, and fragile.
Aloy of manipulation.
Garnier products
Oils (It works for the relaxed parts, but the more natural areas takes to cremes...or light petroleums. I am thinking about trying what my mom use to use on my as a kid, Blue Magic Hair Grease on my newgrowth....lol)

This works on all of my hair. I use:

Shampoos:
Nexxus Botanoil or
Nexxus Theratin Extreme Moisture
Nexxus Aloe Rid (or baking soda and Botanoil shampoo)

Conditioners:
Nexxus Humectress or
Nexxus Humectin Extreme Moisture conditioner

Leave-ins:
Biolage Matrix Leave-in or
Giovanni Direct Leave-in

Oils:
Verifen Constant Care for Ends
Aveda Anti-Humectant

Serum:
Aveda Brilliant Emollient

I'm a newbie, so I'm still tweaking my regimen. Here are the products in current rotation. I wear my hair in a wash-n-go about 90% of the time.

Shampoo: Cream of Nature
Conditioner: Keracare Humecto (deep conditioner)
Herbal Essence Color Me Happy Conditioner (CW only)
Moisturizer: ORS Olive Oil Moisturizer
Oil: Coconut Oil/Castor Oil
Styling Product: Pantene Curl Scrunching Gel (if I'm wearing it curly)

I usually shampoo & deep condition once per week. I CW during the week (only after workouts). I always detangle underneath the shower head with my Denman brush. If I'm wearing it curly, I scrunch in a bit of Pantene Curl Scrunching Gel and airdry. If I'm wearing my hair straight, I usually apply coconut oil to the length of my hair, rollerset, and airdry. I use ORS Olive Oil Moisturizer in between washings.

I usually wear WnGs. I use Humectress as my leave-in, keracare moisturizer w/ jojoba as my moisturizer, and kemi oyl as my sealer. That's pretty much it.

Shampoos:
Cream of Nature

Conditioners:
VO5 Strawberries and Cream
Suave Humectant Conditioner
Silk Elements Conditioner
Aphogee-Protein:D

Leave-ins:
Kids Organics Shea Butter
S-Curl
Aphogee Tea Tree Keratin Spray
Infusium 23

Oils:
Vatika Oil with Essential Oils
Alma Oil
Emu Oil
Coconut Oil

Serum:
ORS Olive Oil Serum- I don't use much serum:look:

I try to wash twice per week lately it has been once per week. I am using lots of S-Curl and Kids Organics in all of this cold weather to keep the moisture in my strands:)

I'm finally learning how to handle my texlaxed hair better.
I use more products than these, but they're the ones that really work well with texlaxed hair:

Oil:
Castor Oil mixed in with Conditioner

Detangler:
Kids Organics Shea Butter Moisturizing Detangling Lotion!!! (on wet hair)
S-Curl (on new growth)
ACV Rinses (just before adding conditioner)
Nexxus Headdress (as leave-in)

Shampoo:
Cream of Nature Detangling Conditioning (yellow top)

Pre-poo:
Aubrey's GPB + Amla Oil

I'm still looking for the perfect conditioner. Now that more of my hair is texlaxed, NTM just isn't giving me the kind of slip I need anymore.

My regimen changes from season to season, but this is what I use/do now:

Shampoos:

Terax Miele
CON (Green)
Physique Hydrating Shampoo
Suave Daily Clarifying
Whatever else I have lying around the house, really!

Conditioners:

ORS Replenishing Pack
Terax Crema
Nexxus Humectress
Nexxus KerapHix
NTM Deep Conditioner
A hommade concotion

Treatments:
Bead Head Chocolate Head
Aphogee 6-week keratin treatment

Leave ins:

Bed Head Ego Boost
NTM Silk Touch leave-in

Moisturizer:

S-Curl
a homemade concotion

What are you doing to it?

Not much. ;) Because it is winter and very dry in New England, I only wash it about once a week, always deep condition, and use magnetic roller to wet set it (using Lottabody.) I don’t pre-poo at all.

My last retouch was August 25, 2006, so I don’t manipulate it much during the week. My daily styling routine consists of a phony pony using the baggy technique. Each night, I massage S-curl into my hair and tie it up. That’s it really. My routine can get pretty complicated during milder seasons, but for now I hardly have to do a thing.

shampoo- RainWater Tea tree shampoo. I LOVE this stuff. I use it once every two weeks.

conditioner- For DC I use a mix of Queen Helene's cholesterol con w/a healthy bit of Doo Gro oil in it. Or I will mix in EVOO if I have any. For between CO washes I use a mix of RainWater Henna con in a small squeeze bottle that has some tea tree oil, and a squeeze or two of Doo Gro mixed in. This is REALLY good for using to slick my hair down w/phony pony.

Treatments- The serious treatment is the Aphogee Treatment for Damaged Hair Stops Breakage Rebuilds Hair Structure. Other than that I don't use special treatments that often. I plan on trying henna in the near future.

Leave Ins- I use Elasta QP mango butter (my hair loves this) and Profectiv mega growth.

I don't use anything else as of yet. A lot of products give me terrible flakes so I'm really cautious anymore.

I am SUPER TEXLAXED and GIOVANNI products overall have made my hair so much more manageable:

Shampoo:

Giovanni Tea Tree Poo (Clarify)
Giovanni Magnetic Poo

Conditioner:

Giovanni Magnetic Con
Giovanni Nutrafix (Protein)

Leave in:

Giovanni Direct (Best Detangler EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Serum:

Giovanni Frizz Be Gone

Pre-poo:

NTM Silk Touch Leave In
Keracare Essential Oils

I wash once every 3 weeks, dont comb my hair except on wash days. MUST rollerset under the dryer, must use MAXI, must NEVER AIRDRY! After wash day, I style with my hands and and add serum/oil every few days.

what shampoo: pre-poo: avocado/coconut milk/banana/honey/EVOO or honey/conditioner/olive oil or ghee 1x week

Elucence volume clarifying every 6 weeks

Elucence Moisture Benefits or Diluted Aubrey Organics shampoos 1x week

conditioner: Aubrey GBP or Jason's Tall Grass 1x week for protein

Either Jason's Sea Kelp/Biotin/Apricot/Aloe Vera, or Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose/White Camelia/Island Naturals for moisture

conditioner washes: 1-2x week(using any of those conditioners)

AVC rinse 1x week

Aphogee two minute reconstructor or treatment for damaged hair every 6 weeks

leave in: i usually just mix some conditioner with water in a spray bottle

moisturizer: leave in conditioner + shea butter or castor/coconut/emu oil/peppermint/rosemary/tea tree/lavendar/ylang-ylang e.o mix

what are u doing to it: no heat, keeping it in a bun, baggie the ends at night, dust every 8 weeks

this is my new regimen for 2007. i'll be adding Elucence MBC back in the rotation in the next few weeks

How has S-curl been working in the cold weather? I think I read somewhere that using glycerine-based products in cold weather can cause your hair to be even drier, which is why I've been afraid to use it. I could use an extra moisture boost though.

"Blowfrying" I love it! I wash or con wash daily. Usually I use mango butter on wet hair and bun or rollerset, then I airdry. Then once dry I moisturize with NTM Silk Therapy or "Generics" version of Humectress.
