Hey Ladies, I'm condiering getting a sewn in weave...Any recomendations on which brand of hair to buy?

i second the indian remi..i just ordered some from www.indianhairs.com...

it was $60 bucks for 1lb 14" straight hand tied...shipping is $40 so i ordered w/ another board member to cut down on costs.

you usually need no more than 8 oz (1/2 lb) for a full head sew in...

Have you used this hair before? How is the quality? Does it tangle easily?

I use heat resistant synthetics. They can be curled, washed (no blow drying though), last up to 8 weeks and cost $7.99 a pack! Best brands are Janet Collection's Hot Stuff Fusion and Armour's New Age Fiber

Carrie,

Your hair is beautiful! Do you do the weave yourself? Can this hair be purchased at sally's?
thank you. I wish I could do my own. I have a stylist here in Philly. Sally's doesn't carry this hair. The Janet hair can be found online for $11.99 a pack the Amour (last photo) is what I am wearing now. Its new. I've only seen it at one shop here.

The indian hair a lot of ladies here use is GORGEOUS. But I think this stuff is good if you're just starting and not sure about wearing weaves or if you are like me cheap :) and like changing your hair often.

WOW Carrie. I'm loving your hair.

I feel you on the synthetic. I wear synthetic wigs all the time!! But what's funny is that people think that the synthetic wig is my real hair, but when I wear my human hair wig, they thick it's fake??

I wear synthetic all the time. I have tried all types of expensive human hair and it all eventually gets matted. Right now I am loving the Freetress brand synthetic hair. I am currently sporting the ripple wave by Freetress. I wish I had some pics to upload (digi camera broken). I second what the others have said about the synthetic hair. Try it first, and if it doesn't work out you won't feel too bad because you didn't spend a lot of money.

Thickness, how long does the Freetress hold up? I've been trying to find a nice synthetic with a curl. I had some of the WaWa brand, but it lost its wave pattern quick. I ended up straightening it.
