depends on how fine your hair is...i like to whip my butters with oil, kinda like the best of both worlds..

I have fine 4b hair and oils work better than butters. I only use liquids and oils as leave-ins, no butters or creams...they tend to just sit on top of my hair.

there is no such thing is best or better everyone's hair is different and you have to experiment and try different things to determien what's best for you.
