Hello ladies!!!

Hope everyone is well.

Im wanting to go from moisturizing and sealing to just using butters, balms or a cream. Does anyone have any good recomendations for a moisturizing cream and can you explain why.

Thanks in advance!!

I love Carol's Daugther Healthy Butter if you meant store bought kind. It's nice and thick and creamy and I use it for all storts of styles from twist outs to braid outs to twists and braids.

Qhemet Burdock Root Butter Cream.

The first ingredient is WATER. It smells light and citrusy (great and fresh). It's medium light to the touch. It leaves my hair soft and moisturised for DAYS! A little goes a long way, so the jar will last a long time.

What else could you ask for in a moisturizer?:look:

I did a review of Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie on my blog. It's technically supposed to be curl creme, but it's more a butter mix to me.

Ingredients: Deionized Water , Shea Butter , Coconut Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil , Avocado Oil , Vegetable Glycerin , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract , Silk Protein , Ammonium Salt , Neem Oil , Daucus Carrot Seed Oil , Sorbitol Esters , Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B-5) , Caprylyl Glycol , Essential Oil Blend , Honeysuckle and Japanese Honeysuckle Extracts , Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

Some of the Ones I've Used with good results in no particular order:

Darcy Botanicals Transitioning Hair Cream
Hydratherma Naturals Growth Lotion & HTN Protein Leave-In
Claudie Ends Insurance #1 and #2, Satin Hair Milk, Isha Hair Cream
Hairveda Whipped Ends Hydration
Karens Body Beautiful Hair Milk
Dudley PCA Moisture Retainer
Aveda Universal Styling Hair Cream
Bee Mine Luscious Hair Balancing Cream
My Honey Child
*just bought Enso Naturals Blue Malva Hair Lotion*

Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Heavy Cream. Awesome stuff. :yep:

I hate for my grass to feel coated and almost everything else either coated my hair, made me itch, or caused breakage. :nono:

I want to try the Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter next - the reviews are awesome!

But my fave creams are
Donna Marie Super Buttercream - smells like cake frosting and it moisturizes well and plays well with other stylers and its also great for refreshing a style, and moisturizes equally well on wet or dry hair.

Qhemet Burdock Root Buttercream - plays well with stylers, seemingly unscented, great on wet or dry hair - but it is sooo moisturizing that if you want to use it for twist outs during the more humid months you are headed for frizz city! I loved this during the winter and spring!

SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie - this is definitely a moisturizer. It plays well with stylers and works best on wet hair but you just have to use it far more sparingly on dry hair. I used it to do a flat twist out (see my siggy) and it provides a little definition and a little hold but tons of moisture!

Hope this helps - the responses in this thread are great so far!

Hey, I love,

QB AOHC (mixed w/QB OHHB)

QB BRBC (mixed w/QB OHHB)

Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Cream (sometime I seal, but I don't think its necessary)
