Which one have you had the most success with in growing hair long? Or which do you prefer in your current regime?

I do rollersets because my hairline is to weak for buns or pony's. I can only wear rollersets. I started off at necklength and I am APL now.:)

both:
weeks 1-6, i airdry and wear buns.
weeks 6-12, i rollerset, 'cause it straightens the new growth, and then wear it up in a bun.

lately i have been rollersetting a lot more often, regardless of the week, and i immediatey wear it into a bun once i take the rollers out, because i have a smoother and better ends with rollersets. :)

Lately my rollersets have been going awry, so I turn them into buns.

Same here. My issue is that I haven't figured out how to preserve the next morning, so into a bun it goes:ohwell:

Buns, buns, and mo buns. Since my hair has grown, I've gotten really lazy with the rollersets. I love them, but they are really time consuming and buns are so quick and easy. I used to have the problem with broken edges from ponytailing too, but since I have learned to moisturize, protect with a scarf and bonnet, and stopped brushing and using heat, my edges have actually grown past collar bone length, even those little peaks right above the ears. I have never had hair longer than an 1/2 inch there.:look:

I rollerset twice a week :look:. I just feel too much tension in my hairline when I bun or even pull it back into a pony. When my sets start looking a little blah, I'll pin it up or do a version of a french twist.

This is exactly what I do.

I wear buns.

I just can't seem to manage a roller set. I've tried and my arms got so tired, I actually took a break about 2/3 of the way through for a cup of tea. Then I realized I was twisting my hair as I tried to get it neatly on the roller.:perplexed Then I ran out of rollers and it was too late to go out to the store for more.:ohwell: I've studied the tutorials on here but I just can't do it.

I prefer buns. My hair isn't that lengthy, but it takes me 30mins to roll it all up and the style only lasts a day or two for me:ohwell:

:lachen: I knew it had to be buns for you, girl with all that lovely hair you would need someone else to do your rollersets. Boy I can't wait for the day to have your length. ;)

Rollersetting YOUR hair by yourself would be an ambitious undertaking! I'm so tickled that you took a tea break:lachen:. I'm also a tea lover so I can relate.

I wish I had this problem:eek: :D Your hair is gorgeous...I just can't see how you would be able to do it your self!

Anyways, I NEED to figure this out...I don't try to hard cuz I HATE sitting under the dryer for so long! Did I say I HATE sitting under the dryer for so long!?:p

How about both?

I rarely rs my whole head, but I ponytail rs sometimes to get my ends smooth if I'm planning to wear a ponytail of braidout.

Lilke another poster, sometimes I'll riollerset in preparation for a bun. RS are healthier for the hair than blowdrying so some just use it as a method of drying rather than an actual style.

I do both I rollerset and bun. When I airdry my hair it is simply to massive to get it into a bun neatly:( . So weekly or twice a week I rollerset and then I put in in a bun. It helps my bun be smooth and I have to use less manipulation to get to be neat. I hate doing buns if my hair has not been rollerset it just looks nasty, fuzzy, and just not neat at all.

Girl your hair is sooo shiny and healthy looking. I'm going to have to check out your fotki. Whats your shining secret???

I have JUST started rollersetting and I like it. I have been wearing my hair in buns and ponytails FOREVER. My front is now breaking from it. So I'm going to start rollersetting and putting my hair in a clip and just doing updo's.

I agree. I have done buns without rollersetting, and it was not a good look :nono:. I'll do it if I'm being lazy, but rollersetting first always looks the best, and it seems to cause less breakage because my hair is straighter.

Rollersts work perfect for me and I do variations of bunning once the set starts to wear down on me.

I love rollersets though. They always give a woman a sultry look and lets be honest we get compliments all day every day when you wear it curly. Rollersetting seems to do the trick for me on giving me new and exciting looks. It never looks the same either. A new look everyday.

It's buns for me all the way. . . I rarely ever get through rolling my entire before just getting fed up and tired. The rollers come out and I usually just put it up in a bun anyways.
