Buns for shorter hair

For us shorties and those who are longer but want to baggy-

With all this talk about buns I want to start bunning (and baggy at the sometimes) but after Bc'ing in August of last year there is no way I can bun at this time as my hair is way too short. Luckily I can now put my hair in one so I have decided that I will do phoney buns with hair extensions -thanks Glamazon386! I will also be covering my buns with snoods/cages/bun covers.

First I will be baggying my itty bitty ponytail, then I will wrap with fake hair to give bulk if needed (if it is a small crochet snood I will not need this) then cover with bun cover. When I am not baggying I will just skip the first step.

Anyone interested, I have pasted a few styles

This will be my protective style for the rest of the year. Armpit length here I come!:yep:

Thanks for the pictures now I have a new idea. I forgot that they had bun cages. They are so fashinable and different. My hair is 6 inches. Is that long enough to add weave extensions to for buns?

As long as you can brush it up into one you should be able to- just pin it in to secure.

Great idea! I might try this and revisit phony ponies. Phony ponies never worked out too well for me because I couldn't get them to look realistic, but using a cage might make it work. Thanks!

oh. my goodness. I'm in love.

$79 for the extra large. Let me see how tight I can get my bun. I'm get this.

I used to wear an octopus clip, all the time!!! They are great, will catch all those stray hairs that won't fit. These are great protective styles, they really are!

I have these two and love them!!! Hairboutique has great hair toys :yep: I also have bun snoods, which I love!

Have any of you considered a UPA Clip? That's a great protective style. I love mine! :D

Great thread. I was thinking about bunning but I decided not to relax my nape for a while so I'm not sure how this will look on me.:ohwell: If I can get my nape to cooperate, I may consider wearing these with a phony bun for a while.

I have three but the ones I have no longer match my hair texture because I bought them when I was relaxed. I would buy more natural looking ones and though the product is very good I did not like the customer service and found the seller to be unreliable and quite caustic so I do not think I would order again
