Bunning for growth Relaxed Hair

Hi Ladies,

I am finally APL :dance7:and I have decided that for the rest of my HHJ to bun. I have fine, relaxed . low porosity hair, hence I need suggestions in regards to what moisturizer and sealant is working well for you while you are bunning? I would love to incorporate Vatika Frosting as my sealant because it works well on my hair but you ladies' might have a better suggestion:grin::grin::grin::grin:

Congrats! I have found that almost any moisturizer can be beneficial to me. What matters most for me is the oil I seal with. I personally use LUSH R&B. It has oat protein. I like to seal it with Vatika Frosting or Avosoya. I will also use jojoba but sometimes it isn't enough by itself.

Honestly though, you have to try things out for yourself. Trial and error is the best way to find out what your likes. Remember, your hair doesn't care about the latest bandwagon, nor does it read the forum. It doesn't have high expectations for certain products or styles. An it surely doesn't cater to what you want. You just gotta take it slow. Your hair will respond. Although I do recommend you either clarify or use a sulfate shampoo before trying a new combo so you get the full effects

Bunning worked great for my lifestyle and my relaxed hair. I miss it because it was so easy. Bunning my natural hair is so much harder.:nono: I simply used my Qhemet Burdock root as a moisturizer. That stuff allowed my to stretch my relaxers for 6 months without a problem.:yep: I used that in the summer and the Amla olive Heavy cream for the winter. I used Hot 6 oil to seal in the moisture.

I don't have fine hair (mom and sis do) but I use vatika oil which smells AMAZING, and moisturizes and seals my hair well. So its good for launch if you want to take that ride!

i think im going to start bunning a lot more now

ive been bunning for the past two weeks and i like it, its simple and it looks cute esp with a headband and because my hair is thick my bun looks delicious (if tht makes sense lol)
i use shea moisture curl&style milk and i seal with either shea moisture reconstructive elixir or Africas Best oil mix which i loove

Congrats on reaching APL! That seems like a hard length for many to reach.

I bun like 80% of the time. It's quick, cute, and keeps my hair protected.

Congratulations on making APL.. I love wearing buns b/c it keep me from daily flat ironing, stretch relaxers and hardly no manipulation.

If using products that got you to apl was not a problem maybe continue with those, unless you just want to try other products.
