Bun or Pony Tail?

Which one is better as a protective style.....using one's own hair.......sny other suggestions about ptotective styles?

Using your own hair, bun is the protective style; pony is not. Protective styles protect your ends from the drying air.

the whole point of a protective style is covering up your ends from the air. I personally believe in wearing a fake pony for the simple fact that when my hair is in a bun with my own hair i still feel like it is being exposed to the air outside so I opt to make a bun with my real hair and then cover it up with a drawstring ponytail. I cut my drawstring ponytail down to a decent length and then I slick my hair back and make a bun out of the fake pony. wearing a ponytail with just your natural hair is not a protective sytle.
