If you could name ONE thing, what would you say is that sole thing, miracle, key ingredient, that got you where you are today?
Thanks!

Treating my hair delicately. I do a lot of damaging things to it with heat but I treat it delicately otherwise, Silk pillowcase, silk scarves, no rough, hard brushing or combing. Treat it like it's going to break.

i would say not bleaching my hair to "almost white" and dyeing it in rainbow colors every few weeks, is what turned my hair around :D the attached photo is from 2009 :D all of that hair, it was almost APL, has been grown and trimmed off.

Mane & Tail Conditioner.....I use it as a prepoo and rinse out conditioner. It strengthens my hair and has helped me reach BSL and I'm on my way to MBL.

I blow dry without an attachment and I flat iron on the lowest setting for my 4a/b hair.
I'm texlaxed and about to end a 15 week stretch...or BKT and go natural again, I can't decide (lol).

Increased moisture; frequent cowashing and occasional DC's. ( I know you said only one, but honestly for me this only worked in combination with long term protective styling i.e. weaves)

#1 thing - protective styling for almost 2 years straight.

Honorable mention - frequent cowashing, daily moisturizing, weekly dc, stretching relaxers, & giving up direct heat

Sent from my Comet using LHCF

One combination of things, Natural, no heat, moisture, seal, gental treatment.:yep:

Stopped cutting

Ditto to both of these posts. Especially #2.

Extra credit: As far a "miracle" products, the closest thing I could recommend would be Nioxin hair, skin and nail vitamins. The price is too high for me to continue to buy them, but I got really great results in all 3 areas (hair, skin, nails) while on them.

CONDITIONER!!!! And the fact that I am natural. I obsessively condition my hair...cowashing daily, deep conditioning once a week, steaming once or twice a month, protein twice a month. And I bun the majority of the time on wet hair with full strength conditioner. I love conditioner!! Went from 4" of hair to my siggy pic 2 years.

@SEMO ive heard great things about nioxin

lindsaywhat For me, Nioxin increased my growth rate, dramatically reduced my shedding (so my hair got thicker), made my skin softer and younger looking (even though I'm still in my 20's anyway) and my nails even grew thicker and stronger. And it only took taking them for about 2 weeks before I saw a lot of these changes.

But to be candid, I think something in the vitamin didn't agree with me 100% (I suspect the saw palmetto or bladderwrack). However, my results were so great it was hard not to want to take them anyway. And I actually planned to (along with cranberry pills) until I kept getting bad batches of Nioxin from Amazon (cracked pills) and then the price went way up.

And since I was already past my hair goal, I didn't feel a big push to continue on. However, I am currently trying out a different hair, skin and nail vitamin. But I've not been taking it long enough to review it yet.
