BSL and MBL - A newb question

Looks like you have a high waist so therefore you're at MBL to me almost waistlength...also I believe the term was changed from BSL to( I can't remember) being that some women wear their bras lower so BSL classification wasn't really an accurate length

You wear your bra really low so for you BSL is MBL. I only use BSB though because not all of my bras sit at the same place.

Thanks for making this thread, im not new here but was just wondering about that today. I recently got my hair cut and its at the same place as yours. I would say that your MBL too.

I have a high waist also and I too was confused until just recently. BTW, you have lovely hair Ivey14.

Thanks you guys for clearing that up! I must have a small upper body, hah! Oddly enough, I just measured my length and I am at 27 and some inches. I need to be at 30" to be officially at WL. I saw another long hair forum where no matter everyone's height, they all agree that 30" rests at the waist! And I'm 5'5''. Weird, huh?

That's confusing, my neck to waist is only 19" and I'm 5'5. I hope I'm not measuring wrong.

Hmm...maybe I'M the one measuring wrong? :ohwell: Not sure.

Does anyone know how we're supposed to measure hair? I'm just starting to learn so any LHCF veterans wanna take a shot at this question?

You're measuring from the hairline in front to the tip of the hair in back, right? That is an acceptable way of measuring.

Ceebee is measuring from her nape to her waist.

Yeah, my BSL and MBL are at the same spot, too - I'm short waisted, and I have huge boobs, so I've got a significant bit of brastrap to get by.

That is weird because i always thought WL varied depending on how tall you are, but it seems 30 inches is the number for everyone.

LOL, i just measured and i need 30 inches to be at WL and i'm 5'8"!

Great post thank you as I was a little confused about this also. By the way, your hair is beautiful!

You're definitely MBL and your hair is lovely. I used to be confused about MBL as well, but then realized its just the hair length between bra strap and waist length. I'm confused about tailbone and classic, but that's a whole otha thread LOL

OP your hair is gorgeous! Glad you asked this, I'm not a newbie and still confused about it...LOL!

Makes me wonder if I'm MBL??

I thought tailbone was below classic. From that I understand belt length is CLassic, then hip length then tailbone is near the "crack."

You hair looks great at any length but I think you are MBL.

Tailbone length is where your tailbone is :look: in the crack of your butt. It's the length after hip(which is where your belt sits now a days) and classic is at the bottom of your butt. You can sit on your hair at classic length.

Oh and OP your hair is MBL. Looks purtty!

All of our hair measurements are go by a portion of your body (midback length, Arm pit length, Shoulder)...Bra Strap was the only measurement that did not. This made the length too subjective, I feel. So I believe the change was made to Below Shoulder Blade to keep in line with other length measurements and to standardize for everyone. Your hair is absolutely beautiful btw! :yep:
