is it really necessary? I have not used a hair brush for the past year and a half at all not once. Got me to wondering is it really necessary, are there advantage/disadvantages of using one? I use my bone comb or fingers at all time. My stylist doesn't use a brush just a comb when styling.

I am relaxed and bra strap length.

I use a brush only as a styling tool to put my hair into a ponytail. Other than that I usually don't use one either.

There is a purpose for brushing your hair, it helps to distrubute the oils from your scalp evenly throughout your hair, and it helps massage your scalp, but you have to have the right kind of brush and know how to use it properly.

I use a Denman paddle brush to wrap my hair. I also use a boar bristle brush occasionally to smooth my hair into an up-do or ponytail.

I would like to see that if you find it flyjump00.
I would find that most interesting.
I probably don't know how to use one properly cause it seemed like i lost more hair trying to use one.

I never, ever use a brush, other than when I am blow drying. I find that they are too harsh on my hair.

I stopped brushing except when I pull my hair back and it's literally 4 strokes just to smooth the top and that's it! I think so far my hair is better off.

I brush for ponytails and thats it. I have a super soft boar bristle for smoothing and a "regular" softness boar/nylon combo brush for deeper smoothing. I use both sparingly. That brushing to distribute oils only makes my hair mad at me.

Wow, you haven't used a brush in almost 2 years? I'm jealous

I use it mainly to slick my hair back into a ponypuff. Brushing gets me smoothness and waves to pop up in my hair. Because my hair is so nappturally full, I use my **Newly Purchased Deman Brush**

(hee hee) to smooth the product through my hair all while smoothing my hair into a pony.

I don't think brushing is necessary but I still brush my hair.

It might not be necessary for others but it is for me.

With the condition my hair is in... I practically run from a brush. Spilt ends, shedding, and breakage galore! I also try to stay away from combs that are not wide toothed. Pretty much has the same effect.
